Geo. about street racing in Kent Washington. I'm hoping that PEOPLE THAT AREN"T RACERS THAT FOLLOW US READ THIS. At the very begining of the show the guy documenting it asked one of the racers why they do this his response was they have NO PLACE TO RACE LEGALLY. The show continues to portray a world of criminal activities. They even find a couple of drunk drivers one on the side of the road and another that hit a tree that had nothing to do with any of it, but see it fit to include them in the show, all the time using the term DRAG RACERS. Through out the show they never come up with a concept or idea to change the situation they just want to sensationalize the negative, brain wash the public and basically destroying the efforts of people that really care and are trying to make a difference and can given the tools to do it, the main part being a legal facility. These people are called DRAG RACERS and are the only people on Long Island really putting forth an effort to cleanup the streets but because of the stigmatism attached to the words nobody wants to here us. Don't fear us, hear us. You see we see racing as a sport that requires dedication and skills both mechanical and physical. We feel that with a safe facility and programs we can harness the energy of these kids out on the streets STREET RACING to do it in a professional manner with professionals to mentor them and show them the right way to do it. Go fast but go safe. Race with law enforcement not away from them. These theories have, do and will work anywhere in the world given the opportunity, opportunity being the key word here. There are investors chomping at the bit to build a facility they just need a place and the nod. No tax dollars needed.The season is once again upon us and for us another year of trying to get people to listen to common sense. With no safe alternative you will be having accidents and loss of life just like last year and the year before that but given an option maybe lives will be saved, maybe yours. It's a crap shoot the way it stands and you can't blame us the drag racers we've been trying to cure this for many years. Racing ain't going away and was pushed into the streets by the people that complained about the tracks being to close to their homes they built long after the tracks were there. Sorry you were sold a nightmare but did that give you the right to kill our dream and create the environment we now have. He's asking $3,500.00 but I think you could get it for less. He also had a 68 convertible with an IRS supension tubbed in back built for road racing saw pictures of that one looked sweet wanted $12,500.00 for that one.
