The snow mountain will be dead by dec.3 they have no money and no backer,s. The only other thing was a track
hopefully they still want to do it. (rex)

They are most likely in the previous administrations round file off to a landfill!
Did you maintain copies of the 9,500+ letters? If you did maybe they can be sent in again?
If you did not maintain copies maybe the time is right for another round of letters and a petition to show them that we are still organized.
Also please post the details of the temp plan or a link to it here. I frequently go on the LIMA site and can't find details of a temp plan.

I keep copies of just about everything.(it's a medical condition) Give me a day or three, and I will see if I can find it. There was a pc crash in the interim so it may take some doing.

This isnt 1959, NHRA doest promote safe streets any more, just wants bodies in the seats of thier circus.
After 40 years of continous membership, I let it lapse when i didnt get a member jacket patch any more. The JDRL was thier last Hurrah.
IHRA is in some sort of limbo with thier "direction". I would personally love for us to get an AHRA track/event.

Actually the Down Town problem was caused by Apollo wasn't it? The guy that was going to build/rebuild the movie theater and got all the other property on Main street. Then wouldn't give anybody a long term lease, instead insisting on one year deals at some really unrealistic rents? Or am I mistaken?

The issue is that the local govt. has been mismanaging this town and it's finances for what seems to be personal gain.They turn their backs on the people they are paid to serve.The perfect example is EPCAL,they didn't do the peoples bidding they sold out to the highest bidder.Hopefully things will change with the new board.Those people in that video are a product of a failed government.If suffolk cty. had a foward thinking govt.a track would have never gone away.It's a necessity to provide a safe haven for those who race.The alternative is the street a deadly alternative.A foward thinking govt. would have made a provision in the land use management to incorporate just such a thing into an area with the least effect life quality issues.With a bizillion dollar deficit how foward thinking is a govt. that borrows it's way out of debt.:confused:

I have an empty haulmark, 3 bbc's, half a dozen trans, If I dont see something popping soon, i may change camps just to get my race nut on!

Just drive 4 hours to atco like I am doing this Friday. (BTW the drive sucks)
Long Island doesn't want my money But NJ would gladly take it. So NJ gets it.
This is sad truth about not having a track in NYC and LI.

I know all about racing Off Island, been at this since 1970, but i'm getting tired of being forced to race in Jersey, Maryland, LVD as well as the $300 a day price tag.

They cart down at Jones Beach also, you got my wheels turning about this.

I didnt know Jones was stiil happening, there was action out at some industrial lot off rt 110 too for awhile.
the NC deal are the guys that ran the show at LIMP.
If these guys have a genuine outlaw class, I got game, at least one complete Jr. Drag engine on the shelf.
otherwise kt100 or shifter, briggs classes are way to restricted.
and if can get a torque converter and rack & pinion in! oofah!

why drive 4 hrs to Atco when you can get to E-Town in 1.5 hrs n Island Dragway in 2 hrs?
Well I'm pretty sure that Atco is still open 'year round' (weather permitting). The Sway's still pretty much cater to the racers/enthusiast with regards to track prep. (JMO) I personally have never been to Island, so I have no real "reason" not to go. Am I off topic again? Damn.......

Atco is not open all year, they close for winter think around Dec 12th
Atco is only 3 hours not 4
Etown is 2 hrs 10 mins....
Island is 2 hours
That is for me and I live in Shirley
As for Atco will be there this Saturday....

so 3 hrs instead of 4 again leads me to my last question, Why pass e-town to drive another hour to get to atco.
BTW, i live in coram 10 minutes from you n it takes me an hour n a half with the trailer to get to etown, you must be driving slow.

Well, they seem to treat you a lot better then Etown does. Etown is 121 miles from my house door to door can do it in 1 1/2 hrs if not towing. Takes me 15-20 mins to get on the expressway from my house and I drive around 65-70 mph so it is a good 2 hours. And yes etown is closer.
I don't like the way I get treated there. Every time I go to Island or Atco I am greeted by name they all know me and my car. Etown, they could care less if I go there or not.
Also Atco has a much better hook. I get my best runs at Atco.

ok. i guess the extra hour is worth it then. I always had good luck with the track at Island, but I've never been to Atco.

Anyone see the nice quote in last weeks Long Island Press regarding Mr. Cardinale's loss?

Lavalle is a stand up guy or at least he was.In the 80s a buddy & me were crusing 5th Ave. in E.Northport,in his small block Vega.We went to go around this White Lincoln making a left with it's left blinker on.Suddenly the Lincoln turn right putting us into a tree.He got right out to see if we were okay and felt bad saying he knows the work guys put into these cars and said he would make good on the repairs which he did.
When the cops arrived they started getting into it with us because of our look our car and who we hit.Like we were criminals.LaValle got into it with the cops saying it was his fault and to backoff. The cops even apoligized to us.
He told us his daughter was telling him to go left and said no pointing right.It was her first sleepover or something.He was a decent guy.
