It's not that far a ride to be rained on.Love America sponsored by Volkswagon & Subaru?:confused:What happened to Buzz Chew Chevy.I was there last week had a good time there were lots of kids there8-13 bracket. As usual I was pitching our plan to all that would listen. It was a good family nite.Good crowd.

Heading over there right now...hop the fence with the boys as usual...lol...then later go RACING!!!!!!
Went to the race last night was having a good time until the modifieds ran.It was here that I realized what is wrong with the sport and why people don't want it in their towns. The following does not describe most of the people I know in the sport but is the type focused on.A group of guys were standing in the corner(turn three) during the race a guy who was in the stands went over to them and asked if they could move away from the fence because his father and kids couldn't see the race that they paid to come see.One of the self certified kings of the sport with two beers in his hands basically told the guy off saying he had "the" orange band and that gave him the right to stand there because if it wasn't for him the track wouldn't be there. While I'm sure he didn't own the place, maybe he's a sponsor but by the looks of him I doubt it,he and people like him are actually killing the sport,it's the fan that provides you a place to race you arrogant drunk prick. It's their money that keeps the track operating and it's dickheads like you that drive them away and make our efforts many hours of them worthless.I've never seen his face at any meetings or events,so you know he really cares!I will give the staff credit this guy couldn't be talked to so like any peice of shit they took the high road and left him to dry up and blow away.Hey buddy nice bracelet and tee shirt too bad there was nothing in it.By the wa suicide don't you own two homes, one being in the Hamptons.Do you really need to cheat the owners of the track out of their admission fee?

It was a joke, but I use to do it when I was younger and broke. Back in he days when you could build a race car from a junkyard.
I went to RR once last year and it was horrible, never again just for the reason you stated above. To much trash in the stands.

There are going to be ppl like that no matter where you go, normally i never see any issues, other then drivers fighting in the pits...im sure alotta shit happens but honestly outta the 6 races i have had so far...there have been more driver fights then anything.
Not for nothing that track would attract alot more ppl if they actually would spend the money they are charging people to come in. It took them up until the first race to fix the score board....nevermind the countless other modifications they could do....Such as putting transponders in @ the track......
there are assholes everywhere.....

YUP. a young autistic boy around 12 maybe was throwing rocks, sand & seaweed into the bay all day at battle on the bay. one misdirected rock went backwards(throwing underhanded), and hit a spectator in the stands. boiling in the sun and beer....so he went screaming at the kid. as soon as he saw the boy, he apologized and backed off. cool. a spectator who was on the ground, standing near the boy then decided to pick up the fight. female. drinking one after another. she screamed at the boy's parents for not keeping an eye on him.....well, yes and no...and FOR TAKING HIM OUT IN PUBLIC KNOWING HE WAS LIKE THAT. nobody getting physical at that point, but, we WERE ready for anything now. the guy who got hit, his buddy who was drinking just a bit more, added some fuel to the flames and went and got security. security saw the boy, and explained to the parents....some people just don't understand. of the drunkards, just another example of patchogue's elite in their best form. must've been relatives of they guy at riverhead.

Problem is alcohol.......no one sees that...

As for the tracks issue, the transponder system is there... the teams need to buy the decoder piece and install it in the car....
__________________________________________________ ________
The track spends lots of money EVERYWEEK..
They pay insurance....
They pay workers comp..
They pay security
They pay for goods
They pay for paint
They pay other outside unseen maintenance
They pay the property tax that is due and they HAVE 28 days a year to make it...
They pay a 10% entertainment tax...and 8% sales tax....
Don't think they are making so much money...
__________________________________________________ ____________
The reason there are fights in the pits is because they don't have rules like other bodies of motorsports.. Road racing facilities physical altercations get you a easy 2k fine...no racing till paid...or it can get you banned from EVERYWHERE.
Drag racing facilities have different rules...any official gets you banned permanently, fighting amongst the competition can get fined heavily and or suspension for the season.
I have spoken with RR many times, give them a $3k penalty and watch how quickly the bs stops...doesn't matter if it's the driver or crew...$3k
Yeah 1 idiot will test it...
Riverhead raceway is a funny place. In certain aspects, it is like walking back in time. They still pay cash purses.(no checks) Funky old restrooms. Ancient structures for food and souveniers. They do have the previously mentioned scoring loop for the transponders, a installation I think that was paid for by the karting folks. The pits are still the wild west/wood shed mentality, yet just about everyone has an enclosed trailer and generators and top shelf support equipment. A symphony of contradictions.

Super is right, remove the booze, remove most problems.

I'd agree but unfortunatly the beer probably makes them a lot of money to operate the track at 4 bucks a cup,but people would probably sneak it in anyway. It's a catch 22,solves one problem but causes another.Maybe limit the number you can buy with a ticket purchase or have drinking in certain areas where kids and family aren't.I've been out there five times this year because I believe we need to show support of the sport,it's all that's left,I think it's important to keep that track alive. It shows there's still a market.. I haven't seen any real crap until this time.If people stop going do you think anyone would be interested in building another track. No attendance no money bad business. That was the main ingredient that ended Westampton. The last couple of weekends there had about twenty people in the stands and not many more cars racing. The pengiun was what he was but business wasn't what it was.You could see that places slow demise, part pengiun, part people, part politics. If we could have looked into the future,I'm sure a real strong effort would have saved that place.Hence the Yapank dupe a political masterpiece. We better stand tall on EPCAL or it's over.Marty's idea of fines and not being allowed to race would do the trick.I'm suprised they don't have something like that.

My kids are 25&21 when we go to the track my son and i have a couple beers. To be honest I wouldn't miss it,were there to watch racing, but I knew a guy who owned a resturant and he said keg beer made him the most money for dollar invested 500 8 ounce glasses out of a keg at two bucks a glass. But your right maybe eliminating beer might eliminate other expenses, lawsuits, security,my gut.
