Their done, its over.
What you will start seeing is more "home based" parts services. I few of my frinds in PA and FL are making a killing on reconditioned parts from their junkyards.

These have been good products over the years. To keep them going you keep buying them. This is how the American people can save American products. All this bullshit is hype and drives fear into people.Markets are driven by this.I'll keep buying American products(when I can find them). If this country goes down I prefer to go down swinging not curled up in a ball trying to learn chinese. This government ain't gonna save shit it's up to us.

Tmac, spot on there. First the biggest problem are these companies I see that do knock off of companies that spent all the money to research and design the product. Go on ebay and you will see nothing but foriegn knock offs of aftermarket auto products. I just finished building my motor last year and it is all american made. One major reason is that you know the quality you are buying versus the spotty quality at best. I buy American whenever possible. My workboots are redwings, work jacket is carhart and all my trucks and equipment is American made by an US company.
I see the crap that we buy that is made in China. A perfect example is we use Brand X (major manufacturer) controllers for the irrigation system. Orgionally they were made in the USA and we had a failure rate of less than2% over a year from installation. Best controller on the market. Now the same controller is made in China and the failure rate is around 15%-18% which is insane. It is gotten so bad that they are going to bring this manufacturing of this back to the USA.

That's a good thing, a lot of companies shitty piss poor attitude is... it's so cheap we can just keep swallowing the returns and replace it with another....

This economy crash is going to change lots of things.... most bad, some good

Their metals are inferior also. There are pattent laws on the books china just ignores them and this government never took a stand years back when it should have that is why we have all this shit lining our store shelves add to that the Walmarts, hoe depot and all the other garbage out there that bought all this shit drove mom and pops out with cheap crap.Instead of American manufacturing spreading our wealth investors investing in foreign goods are.We became investors instead of manufactures. We have no manufacturing base.If we had to build a war machine we'd be screwed.China even builds a critical guidance device for our missles, how stupid is that.Their the devil in disguise.

If im correct clinton sold china the electronics to guide the missle. They were capable of building a missle but couldnt aim it. Clinton took care of that and sold them the dirrections

The bottom line unfortunately drives big business. Small guys have pride. Corporations have shareholders who expect a dividend. They really aren't concerned with too much else. How ever it is arrived at, as long as they get it. If they don't, there is a shareholders class action suit for "financial impropriety" . I was a share holder of Pacific Enterprises back in the 80's - 90's (an inheritance). The company diversified (popular at the time) and it went bad. Share price dropped, dividend suspended, (logical decisions when you are getting beat up) and lo and behold, a class action suit appeared. It settled out, and the company survived and returned to prosperity in a very short period of time. Point is, it would have anyways. MFers hadda sue though. So CEO's take notice of these things and do things that baffle us "regular folk". It's just a way of maintaining thier cushy part time jobs (they all have another gig)((or two)) and thier stock options.

a goodf tell tail sign of the floundering economy in the car world is when you go on summitracing.com and EVERYTHING is on sale. Summit usually doesn't have sales on most things.

I agree Shafts. The world will make an adjustment to bring back a real sense of cash value.I also think countries like America will feel bigger hits.We will be back to the life styles of our parents.(Those 45 and older).Like a reality slap but if all accept this this country will be just fine.It wasn't a bad life when I was a kid you just had more fun with less, and kind of in a sense forced families to do things together because you only had one of them not one for each kid. That's when hot rodding was hot rodding when you don't have the money you become inventive with what you have.Bragging rites will come from knowledge not money.
