The concept of hiring a motorsport management company is a great idea.

They have experience bringing the community together along with the local Police department.

The SCPD does not want street racing. They are also not fans of Levy administration.

Having the SCPD on our side is a big plus in getting a facility again.

Suicide I think your intentions were right but by not following a chain of command we can put out infomation that gives certain civic groups that monitor these sites that are against us an upper hand.What we need to do maybe is get on their sites and see what they are trying to do and work against them and maybe we can compromise with them.

Calling on Art.Art if you could post the sites for ABCO,that tree hugger from Carolina,the pine barrens group,lake lovers.Maybe if we clog their sites with interesting questions and ideas about how we disagree with their vision of the future of L.I.,they will get off our backs.Nothing dirty but serious questions like the cost of their land preservation purchases,some of these have been high priced parcels in stupid locations and under 1 acre,why should we pay for beach preservation for beaches we can't use.Investigate these sites read their material,these people are our biggest problem,but most of all do it in a professional manner these people are smart,connected and well organized,but they aren't many they just come off that way.If you go to these meetings you will see how effective the WORD organization is and you would see if we had a big showing they wouldn't know what to do.They can easily beat down people that act like assholes just by saying hey look how they act that's how hey get support, but if you play the game their way they have to explain why we don't deserve what we want to which they have no answer.Unlike them we don't need taxpayer funding as ALL their projects do,we don't cost a dime in fact our goal creates income and tax revenue,but town boards vote on their projects to fund them.We just need to counter that by contacting our elected officials and demanding as taxpayers they don't fund these unnecessary pork projects.This could be fun!

Something is missing here sorry,but it is necessary to post in a professional manner these people will be checking out this site and we need to come off as they do not feed into their retoric. They'll use that against us and crush us.That stuff is exactly what they want.We need to come off as sincere citizens corcerned with how are tax dollars are being spent.We can use the government cutbacks to foward our ideas because they are cost effective by creating revenue at no cost to government ,only zoning changes at best.We don't want to become these peoples enemies because some of the things they do are necessary but diminish their political influence a bit.

Just as a point of information. The folks who are against the motorsport community log in here everyday. Anyone can browse here without logging in. The "open space" people want just that. They are not interested in what is fair,right, or whatever word you can think of. They want what they want and are right on top of us. Pm me for some specifics if you are interested.

When this site was started it was a small group of serious racers and fans of the sport with the goal of reestablishing safe and legal racing here on L.I..The original few did much legwork to get things going and keep the dream alive and it might be just that a dream,but we tried to keep a professional manner about it.You will get nowhere without acting professional in the political arena where our fight exists all members here should get that,those that can't should move on.If your going to say that's why the membership is so small well maybe we don't deserve a racetrack because the beer drinking brawling mindset is the sports biggest backset.It's not the noise that's just a good political tool it's the actions.You need to change the face of the sport to make it a serious minded professionals sport,which I think is the attitude of most of our members,if you don't it will never happen.My opinion now beat me up if you feel it necessary.
