Considering the economic times we are in how to we get our politicians to revisit the Nascar/Dragstrip park?

Do they really know how much revenue it will bring to offset all the NYS budget cuts.

That Yapank site is surplus county land and had a design for racing through Top Gun.It was a nice setup but Levy wanted to put affordable housing there.Maybe he would change his mind now.The Yapank community didn't want the housing but they weren't to fond of us either.But at a civic meeting I attended with Art a women who was an association leader wasn't against us either.We told her we were from the racing community up front and she seemed like a person you could negotiate with.I've said this a million times that is the best site on L.I. in my eyes.
Politicians main concerns are to remain politicians,to get to them you need thousands of people to say they want this.The key is mass support not just from racers but the community at large.

Ive seen the Yapank proposal and it looks like a great site.

Please keep me in the loop on how I can help with obtaining sigs. How many thousands are we talking? If it saves tax dollars which everybody on LI suffers with I think the sigs would not be hard to obtain. They would have to revisit the proposal. How often do you go to the meetings?

Right now we are idle. There is no "hot" proposal out there. The woman Tmac is referring to is Mary Ann Johnston from Afilliated Brookhaven Civic Organizations (ABCO). She is everywhere. (I think it is her job) She is against Riverhead Resorts (like just about everyone except Phil and crew and Mitch Pally) who was the "winning bidder" on the EPCAL property. Definetly keep talking about it to whoever will listen. There is a lot of misinformation out there. Keep on about the fact we need, and we need to speak up. Even though there is "nothing" to support, sending Steve Levy letters isn't a bad idea.
When we gather in a few months (like we seem to) I will try to bring some of the stuff I still have regarding past actions.

Perhaps its time to call the Napp family, and see if they are ready to expand their empire and get a hold on lost NY/LI customers, I know that more than a few have had past issues with the way they do business, BUT.. nothing ventured...

The woman Art and I met Ms. Johnson pointed out some things about the Yapank site to the effect that it was uninhabital because of the toxic plumes there.These are real and aerial photos were post here a while back.She was easy to talk to and did invite us to come back.I don't know what kind of power if any she yields but she seemed to want to here more of what we had to say.I don't think I would go on a Levy bashing campaign either,he's in political trouble and could use friends.One hand washes the other if you get my meaning he still has the power.We do need to find out if we have Rexcorp to back a plan.

Yea but it was no big deal when you were eighteen. Years ago for me I would work throughout the year outside. I even did a rering and new bearings on my old Mack dumptruck with a flathead six in it with 6" plus inches of snow and below freezing weather temperatures, just had a bullet heater to keep me warm.

I put a rear in my 66 gto in 15 degree weather in front of my home with no heat. Had to go to school the next day, needed the car. Things you do when young and in need. Today a warm garage will do just fine, done working outside in the cold if I have a choice.

After a couple of telephone poles the garage isn't enough I need a lift.It takes me more time to get under and out then the job.when your eighteen you pack snow around the car to stay warm and go through the rot hole in the floor to do the job.
