Rexcorp downsizes racetrack in its Calverton bid

RexCorp president Scott Rechler and his team demurred on many specifics but offered the Riverhead Town Board flexibility yesterday as his team presented its concept for EPCAL Centre, a billion-dollar multi-use resort they hope to build on 755 acres of town-owned land in Calverton.

Sounds like they could of been more prepared before going in front of the board. I am suprised because usually they are spot on in front of these type of meetings. It is not easy going before a board. I have done it for clients for much smaller projects and have gotten worked over on every possible point you could possibly imagine, plus some that you could never imagine. We will see what happens. They WERE prepared. Cardinale is playing games, the scumbag. He is trying to lure them into a bidding war with the ski jump people and Rechler's not going there. Cardinale's behavior is inappropriate. He and the councilpersons have asked for proposals. They GOT THEM. It is time for them to choose the one that will make more long term sense for Riverhead but he is acting like a pompous jerk. I called his office yesterday and made my anger known to his aide.

Cardinale is playing the game it will be a bidding war. This is what people like him do thats all they know. AS far as for long term sense they know how much money it will make. But Cardinale likes the fact that the Ski resort is indoors. A Ski resort will ever bring the money that NASCAR,NHRA,ROAD RACING will bring. But these people out here just don`t want to understand that. The town is going to do what it wants to do thats the process like it or not. I heard that they were going to bring the people from Riverhead. To Englishtown to see and event, Oh I am sorry I made the mention of NHRA. I used the four letter word good thing I did not say "DRAG RACING" I am a Drag racer and proud of it. I not going to hide around that for no one!

Does anyone know the amount of money generated per year that is done on the behalf of motorsports that is donated to children funds.....amongst other organizations that do non profit help the needy work....

That would be a great argument for people against motorsports

I know the motorsports in whole is huge money maker for all those organizations and i wouldn't be surprised if it's the # 1 money making revenue for those organizations...

When people need money for something.........

Get a parking lot and add cars, then you can get people to give you money to look at parked cars.....look at the FD and bald hill..

We did have a charity event in Sag Harbor this weekend for the Special Olympics, we even gave rides to some of the kids in our cars-they loved it.
