In a community news letter I recieved the other day Leg. Eddington it states how he's putting an effort foward to preserve the horse farms that are in trouble because of taxes property values. How these places are struggling to remain opened and Long Island will lose an important part of its past.If you changed out horses for race cars it would read like our cause to which he remained silent as tracks closed. How's that for horse shit maybe we should ask him why.I'm all for preserving any part of what's in the interest of people here but it's a shame how they want us to go away like the bastard child.Oh I know good people ride horses there worth saving.
Wish I could post this letter,I have a scanner but don't know how to transfer any one know?

LEG.EDDINGTON SEEKS WAYS TO PRSERVE A NOBLE PASTIME
SMALL HORSE FARMS A PIECE OF AMERICANA,A PART OF SUFFOLK COUNTY
Once upon a time, the hamlet of Medford was considered horse country, while Long Island as a whole easily supported a large and vibrant horse culture.Today, with development swallowing up open space nationwide at an average of 250 acres per hour,Long Island is in danger of losing a billion-dollar industry and a way of life that is pure Americana.Large farms on the island are now a rarity, while small farms, which operate popular grassroots programs that appeal to the average horse enthusiast are struggling to survive.
Leg. Jack Eddington has been working to keep the American dream alive for small horse property owners and for horse enthusiasts who use these properties as a home base for a way of life that is both passionate and productive. In Medford alone,Leg.Eddington's home town, numerous small horse properties exist specifically to give youngsters the thrill of being in the saddle and the responsibility of caring for horses. Then there is the fullillment that comes with being part of one of the few cultures left so clearly tied to the American past in all its rugged individuality.
Because of increasing taxes and cost and shrinking revenues, these small horse-property owners are being faced with the choice of selling to developers or going under.Either way,Long Island will lose both economically and culturally. The rural charm that has defined communities like Medford will simply disappear.Currently,no protection programs exists in Suffolk Cty. for farms under 7 acres, and most of the struggling small horse farms are comprised of less than that.Still Leg. Eddington has noted that these small operations hold economic value for the region because they are magnets for horse enthusiast nationwide. They hold an even deeper value in that they promote a noble way of life worth protecting.
"MY goal is to find another way to facilitate preservation. The county should act now to help maintain these smaller properties and our heritage as a equine friendly" county, saidLeg. Eddington
Is Jacks goal to get tax breaks for himself and his friends that own horses. Are we not rugged and noble. We're so noble one racers name is John Nobile. He wants to save many farms we need one track.I quess we need to work on our CHARM angle!:D
If you change out the word horse for race cars and tracks for farm he stole our speach.

The county should act.... no jack you should throw money at them or have a horse show at bald hill every wed night, make them spend money to bring there horses so they can show them while you take it ....
