Hi All : My name is Bill Muller . I grew up in Brooklyn and I raced at Westhampton , Islip and NY National from 1963 until 1969 and then again at Westhampton from 1984 till 1991 when I moved to Las Vegas . I now race a 1966 Nova S.S. at the Strip at Las Veags Motor Speedway . I still have great memories from Long Island Drag racing and hope that a new track is built soon . Does anyone remember drag racing at Roosevelt Raceways parking lot probably about 1961?

When the wind was just right you could hear Islip on Fire Island. No kidding!

:hello:At 52 I do remember all but Roosevelt.Islip must have been the most dangerous with that shutdown with the poles laid across between the steel at the end not to forgiving.Less forgiving than that were the people that forced the demise of all the legal tracks here.
What kind of car did you race here?
Welcome to the show and thank's for your support.Maybe when we get that track you can pay us a visit and do a little gambling.

T Mac When I lived in Brooklyn in 1963 I raced a 1958 Pontiac Chieftain convertible. This was replaced with a 65 Catalina 4 speed tri power ran in C/S which I raced until 1969 at Hampton , NY National , and sometimes at Islip . In 1983 when I lived in Farmingville I bought a 1971 Nova SS with a 350 and a four speed which I ran from 1984 till 1991 when we moved to Las Vegas . The 71 ran in heavy eliminator .
