Hi all,
I just found out about this site and decided to join. I am a long time fan of drag racing since I started to learn about it in the early 60s. I lament the passing of Islip, Freeport, LID, and especially N Y National.
I am a drag racing photographer/historian (of sorts). I have a website dedicated to drag racing photos from the 60s to today. A lot are from N Y National as well as E-town and a host of others. I also have contributors to the site with neat photos to see.
Some of my photos and articles have been in Hemmings Muscle Machines, Mopar Action, Hot Rod, and Car Craft. I currently do freelance work for L I Rides and I'm the official photographer for the Stock Appearing Drags (www.stockappearingdrags.com). :headbang:
I hope I can be a plus to this site.

Welcome Ted,
I've been wanting to pick up your LID videos as those where the years I worked there then raced.

Dennis Quitoni told me about the site and asked me to check it out. I like what I see and decided to join. I do freelance stories for L I Rides and I'm sure I could do something on the site. I will be away until Tuesday so I can talk to you around that time. I need a phone number or you can e-mail me nitroblues@gmail.com.

Me? My name is Jim Zaun
I started in the time slip booth, cleaned up after the races (dam there was some nasty stuff there) ran the lanes, prep the track (I had Popeye forearms from scrapping rubber) ran the sweeper (that was fun) I went to training with the NHRA, got my tech inspector license, tech'ed, started, setup, clean up. I mean there was only 3 or 4 of us runnning the show (Gary had more people handling the money then making it for him) so we had to do everything.
I'm the guy in the middle

Yes, I would love to. However I work nights (3-11:30 PM) and my next few weekends are pretty booked up. When did you have in mind?
