All the letters I've printed and distributed are very generic and barely mention motorsports except the Levy public support letter.My question is the site plan by rexcorp as proposed shows no accommodation for a drag strip and the layout with horses ,living quarters for country club racers seems more like a rich kids gig than a drag racers hope.The plan as proposed doesn't look to accommodating for drag racing.Are we backing something that doesn't back us?

People.... Just listen to Andy. Please just send in the generic letter of support below. Do NOT add anything or delete anything. Do not make references to a drag strip or even for motorsports in general. You want FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT and you want a FAMILY DESTINATION. NO MORE about the DRAG STRIP. Just put your name at the bottom and send it in.

To the members of the Riverhead Town Board,
I urge you to accept the recent EPCAL Rexcorp. proposal for the 755 acre former Grumman site as presented on March 9th at the Town Hall. Being a local area resident, I believe this project would benefit the vast majority of community members in numerous ways and would add many needed dollars to the tax base as well as provide a variety of wholesome, constructive forms of hobby and entertainment outlets. Please do not allow this once in a lifetime opportunity to fail. It would elevate the quality of life for all the current residents of Riverhead and countless generations to come.

Unbievable Andy. You are gonna get the high letter volume award for the month. I just got off the phone with a council member at Riverhead. He said its very important to KEEP UP THE PRESSURE. Submit those generic letters and emails. He did say that all letters and emails are good but the ones from Riverhead residents count much more to them. They are nearing the finish line and its important to keep sending support letters and emails. REMEMBER: Keep it FAMILY oriented. Send in a copy of whats posted here. Mikelbeck made a nice link to a word document and a PDF file on this thread just a few posts above. Use either one. Sign it and send it in . I think there is a car show this weekend at Riverhead Ford. I will be there trying to find Riverhead residents to sign up and spread the word. Nikole has sent out a ton of generic letters also and notified other car sites. KEEP UP THE PRESSURE.

Alan I just checked the site I believe I goofed and the car show was this past Saturday. I put up the link on all the boards explaining whats going on and the guys have been pretty understanding so far. I am checking theboards now to see what car shows are coming up at dealerships and such. I will post them up here. As of right now most of the ones I see are for July which will most likely be too late. When is the vote scheduled to be now?

Bald Hill has started and from what I understand has a large turn out lately as well as Wendys in Oakdale which is a very large show as well.

I sent a email blast today, about not sending letters abiut drag racing, boy I got my head chewed off by these guys, cursing me out telling me that they want a drag strip and thats what they are righting in their letters.

I have no clue why people dont understand!

I'm just gonna put this out there. The 'net and 'puters give lots of otherwise reasonable folks big mouths. Sort of like the "liquid courage" factor at any gin mill. That and recall the attendee's at the Bellport HS auditorium a while back.
Some of them were pretty rude too. I'm sorry to say I guess it comes with the territory. Keep up the good work though. I'm one of the people you email and I always appreciate being included.

I just got back from Riverhead. Arrived there at 9:30 AM (DMV) . Only one in ten that came there was a Riverhead resident, so after half hr. I moved to King Kullen. Much better. I was getting about 15 sigs per hour, (2 hrs.) and I am putting them in the mail now. I'll be back out there tomorrow and probably every morning from 9-11 or so.

Andy I took the flyers you faxed me to Bald Hill.I also took the letters I made for Levy and Rhead.As I've said prior Rhead one is a plan support.Igave everyone a flyer that signed ltrs and flyers to many telling them to go to site support button.Would flyer support be better over letters?
