Anybody going to Patchogue tonight? Looks like the rain is done, it's sunny here. I'm going down around 7, I'll be wearing my bright orange "Burwood Boys Racing" t-shirt, so stop me if you see me and say hi. ;-)

So... I guess nobody's gonna make it? I was there from about 7:15 to 7:30, the place was empty. So I left. :-(

A buddy of mine called me up on a Thursday and said it was very crowded. Since the Oakdale shutdown , the crew comes up to the 122 area and hangs. Of course words spreads fast and others come in from the local area. Also being free next to the Bald Hill fee. The fee is nothing really, but it is still more than free.

The only future catch to this place I think will be; Sooner or later, the burnouts will have them shut down. Currently, theres no cops there. That will change. Theres allways a group of clowns doing burnouts down the back road to piss of the people in the houses there.

Which is even more stupid than anything since the service road is right there. Not an ideal spot, but a hundred times better than a 30 mph house / kid filled road. At least the old building will shield alot of sound.

Why don't they go out the Sunrise service rd. to do the burnouts if they must. There's a land buffer and the pavement is better.:poke:

I don't get it myself. We could make an effort to talk up against "bad" behavior while we mingle. Cheaper than a flyer. Make a note to yourself of anything you witness and speak directly to them next time you see em'. Won't stop unless "someone" says something..... and maybe not even then.

Oh and I was at Riverhead for the WMT race. I should be back this weekend.

I don't know why they have to do burn outs at all. What are they proving?LOL, who sez there trying to prove anything. We all know how much fun it is to lay down some rubber. Also, there nothing like showing off for some people. If theres any proving there trying to do is just show off with the burnout. It's a "Look at me, my car has big balls, enuff to lay down this strip or ruber." thing.

Not to insult, but in all honesty, no one cares if your wifes Saturn can lay down rubber. OH, they'll look. But which one is cooler to watch?

I like Art's idea of talking it down around. Most I speak with agree, but, what else is new when someone smokes'em up on out of there. I have one car I'd like to catch up to myself and ask him if he lost his mind for the 200ft strech by the houses.

Maybe we should get some plywood and 2 x 4's to create a sign. "Wrong street for burnouts, and high speed." Ask a local house to host the sign. Little letters, not fine print like, reading "Video cam in use for offenders."

I understand that we don't want it to happen but in the real world it's gonna,so we should stress that people exit from the service road side,no homes two clear oneway lanes, the safest alternative.Everybody that owns a hot rod wants to streach their legs every now and then especially around other hot rodders. It's just the nature of the beast, and of all the cruise spots probably the safest one for that sort of sht.Do I promote it no but My rods in a hundred parts,if I was up and running I am known to get stupid in a safe area,as many are.I'm against street racing which has cost me almost my life and has left my with several physical problems.Hey I'm writting this from a wheelchair in part thanks to street racing,so I know how a couple of seconds of fun can turn tragic and cost you down the road. This is probably my main reason for being here, that and I love the sport still.

Well spoken. Perhaps a 3rd sign,
"Burnout this way as you leave, thanks, have a nice day!"

I will be there around 6:15 or so. Bringing my newly finished 67 Mustang. Its first trip! Spent all day cleaning up for her debut. Also my Camry made another magazine. That's two magazines this year. May issue of Chevy Hi Performance and now the October Car Craft.

Your Camry is in Chevy Hi Performance?

Last night I was under the Duster a whole lot. Carpet, seats in, shifter in, etc........

Dodge today! Gotta have the daily driver up and running. It really sucks riding the bike in the rain.

Well the Mustang was there along with maybe 8 other cars. We had a good time talking with each other, just wish there was a larger turn out. Was there from 6pm till about 9. Maybe next Saturday.

The Mustang looks good.

Hopefully by next Saturday we'll have some more people show up. As I was leaving (about 9) a bunch of guys were on their way in, I don't know if they stayed around or not as nobody was left when I bailed.
