This letter points out what Levy spoke about in his 2005 State of the County address and mentions the numerous public hearings about the Yaphank property.
Next, an article about the original Yaphank project (http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=17692536&BRD=1776&PAG=461&dept_id=6365&rfi=8). Again, Steve Levy talks about how “we deserve a place to play” and he believes that “we can also make this a hub of our economic engine”.
Last a piece about what the county decided would be best for Yaphank (http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=17743840&BRD=1776&PAG=461&dept_id=6365&rfi=8) - an 8,000 seat indoor arena, workforce housing and an indoor ATV track.
I recall about 95% of the people who went to the public hearings saying how they wanted a drag strip. The presentations shown included a drag strip. So where’s the drag strip?
