What a F'ed up weekend, full of incredible highs and lows. I got to meet Scott on Friday, seemed like a real good guy

It is truly sad what happened. I am a little suprised that they had the man lift at the end of the track there with the jersey barrier at a 90 degree angle. He just did not stand a chance. I am I mistaken but years ago the barrier was at a 45 degree angle so atl least the car would bounce off instead of such a blunt impact. I hope they redesign that area at E-town and other tracks because I feel if the sand trap had a gradual incline and a better way to stop a car (nets or whatever versus a jersey barrier) he could of survived.
Then the other thing is the funny cars themselves is that they are to fast to be really controlled. When you watch them on TV every run is on the edge where the drivers are barely in control. Maybe NHRA has to institue smaller blowers, limit the blower overdrive, single mags, spec pumps. You would still have the nitro, but it would be safer. Just to many funny car drivers have been hurt and killed over the last few years.
Nothing in this world is worth a life.
