We do not need another mall, and all the tech jobs have gone offshore!

That would be comical if more retail was to be developed over there. That area of Bethpage is a retail black hole. Whoever goes in goes out. Best bet is for the tech angle or keep it industrial. Also if it was to go retail that would be the final nail in the coffin symbolically where good paying manufacturing and engineering jobs on long island have now become low paying retail jobs with no benefits or insurances.

The "and turn a profit" is the part I find amusing. No matter what gets put there, they will "enjoy" some of the most expensive electricity in the nation. We/I pay over $0.20 per KWH while my hillbilly relatives pay less than a third of that. And commercial electric service is even more. Then there are those property taxes..... No wonder Suozzi said "anything".

A source close to New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH., confirmed with CompetitionPlus.com the NHRA and Bruton Smith's Speedway Motorsports Inc., have had discussions in regard to building a drag strip on speedway property similar to the one on the grounds of Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. Having a strong northeastern presence has been a priority for the NHRA's upper management since issues regarding the future of Old Brudge Township Raceway Park began to surface in years past. The real issue with the Loudon possibility is the lack of space for such a venue.

I know I keep on hearing the Old Bridge rumor myself. I hate to say it, it is only a matter of time with all the develpoment around it. People there will eventually make it that is not in their best interest to operate and to sell out. I been going there since the 80's when it was farmland all around, which is no longer so. The pressure is there which is obvious since this year they are really cracking down on the muffler issues. I feel like this will be hampton dragway all over again. It is a shame since they have so much going on there with the motocross, road course, atv, go carts etc.:violent1: I hope I am wrong.
