Finally got the engine back together... aside from a few coolant leaks it's sounding strong.
I can't wait to get it out to the track. I was gonna go to E-town today but wasn't able to. Maybe next weekend!

:headbang::hello::smile:Cool beans! I am getting back my heads next week. Hoping to finish putting this motor together in the next few weeks. That was like watching one of those inspirational shows on Sunday morning. I have seen the light and need to get my ass in gear. We want to hear times and see video when you hit the track.:2215:

I will. I forgot this is a holiday weekend, I don't know if I want to be traveling from here to Jersey with the holiday traffic. I'll decide later on in the week.

The following weekend (June 1st) is the 3rd Annual Musclecar Madness, plus NHRA Top Sportsman. Sounds like it might be a cool day. ;-)

Well I was looking at this post I made in May. :poke: Well right on schedule just dropped the motor into the car today. :violent1: Should be ready to be fired up this weekend. Crossing my fingers.:headbang:
You aren't alone. I'm still stuck. Worse yet I found a clean G body in NJ for reasonable cash which is torturing me with possibilites. I had all sorts of plans for the "stimulus check" and my "tax return". In reality, I paid my mortgage. This weekend though, has the potential to cash positive. So I may make progress soon.

Well getting there. Should be firing the motor up in the next couple of days. Got side tracked with work this weekend and other family issues. Just a picture to show the motor exists. Basically it is a 383 stroker solid roller cam motor with a semi stock appearance exterior. Forged rotating assembly. The heads and intake have been ported, hogged and polished for extra flow. To keep the semi stock appearance it has a set of aftermarket 2 1/2" exhaust manifold with full 2 1/2" exhaust. Right now the motor has a Holley on it for start up (was on the old motor and I know that is good to go) but I am working on putting together a an original carter carb that has been tricked out. This will be street driven with some trips to the track. I will update when I fire her up. Crossing my fingers after 4 years of talk and almost one year to build almost there.

:3gears:Well it finally runs. Fired right up no problems. Just have to adjust the timing, it is a little off. Once I get it running properly I will install the new ignition box. Then take it for a quick ride, do an oil change and that should be it. Definitely a much more healthy motor than the old one (original numbers matching) which has been tucked away in the garage. This build has been like climbing a mountain.:headbang::2215::D:smile::):hello::cool:

Well a followup had some time this afternoon, finished work early. Timed the motor, adjusted the carb and it was still running a little rough. Take out for a ride and it cleared out purrs like a kitten. Bring it back in change the oil and filter, thought I was done. Now my problem don't ask me why, I installed a new electrical harness in the engine compartment, (figured since the 45 year old harness was tired it would be a good thing) I have an electrical gremlin where when I throw the right turn signal my all my tail lights flash. Gotta a love it, I thought I was done. Well something to do tomorrow.

I hate electrical problems. I'm at the point where I'm getting OK fixing them, but old enuff just to not want to anymore and do the right thing with those old crusty vines of wire. REPLACE'EM!
At this point, what the hell, they'll probably out last me.

Might wanna look under the directional plate. Thats where all that type of stuff happens. It is a pain to pull the steering wheel, but it is the only place where I know to look.

Well your thoughts and mine was correct. So I have to say to Art "Atta Boy" It was the turn signal switch. Just ordered the switch on the Internet. Go figure this switch was only made for one year, had to find it on a restoration site.
