As the title says, I am looking for a shop closer to the part of LI where I live. (Mastic) I used to use LAB in Lindenhurst when I lived In N. Massapequa and while I was always happy with the work, it's just to darn far away. Just a shop that can handle the usual stuff nothing exotic. Suggestions??

The dream or the reality?? The dream is a daily driver stroker. (383) The reality is "just" a 350.
The engine was whole when I got it, a rather unique piece with a crankshaft issue. Most interesting failure I had seen at the time. The first rod journal gave up, causing the rods to literally hammer the crank so hard that the second main bearing mushroomed enough to stop the crank. I have a replacement stock crank for it (yawn), but what I really want is one of those SCAT strokers. Meanwhile, I need some one to go over the block to make sure that while the aforementioned carnage was occuring, the block didn't sustain any really bad damage. Plus unless I get some time, the likelyhood of me washing all of the bearing junk out of the oil passageways is pretty small. So the person doing the work would need to spend some extra time with it in the "tank" and inspecting the mains and what not. I'm not looking for a "Machineworld" bargain, just someone who can, and is willing, to do what I ask. Simple huh?

If I read the list correctly that would be 9-350-3750-5700L. If it isn't balanced, it won't work for me though. The extra expense of the externally balanced parts would kill my meager budget. And considering I still haven't had the block looked at, I may be jumping the gun a bit.

Also, anybody do sandblasting out this way?? I finally got some headers (thanks again Lance) and want to try that Eastwood stuff. I used to do my own sandblasting but had to let the equipment go (like everything else...). Anyone??
