Torn down to make room for condos? When did that happen?
The model was up within 45 days after westhampton closed. It was one of the fastest things in terms of development I have seen in a while. If you look at a satellite view of the property now, you can just barely make out where the oval was in the back of the property. Everything else is gone.
It's pretty amazing how fast things went there and how quickly the (PINE BARRENS)were removed without a word from Dick Amper. If you remember the penguin wanted to reverse the track but they wouldn't allow the relocation of the stands for it would destroy the valuable PINE BARRENS at the end, also the enterance from Sunrise was shot down for the same reason.Go there now and see what's left.A silence fell amongst the lovers of ugly trees.

Actually if you did a lil research and checked things out before talking shit (which noone does) you'd notice they really didn't cut down any trees, aside from cleaning up the tree line. They built the condo's in what ever land was already cleared. Now, don't get it twisted. I in no way agree with what they did, I'm just sick of ppl putting false information out there for other ppl to read.

I went out to the track about 8 months or so after it closed there was one model built but the trees to the right of the track and over towards where the oval was were gone maybe they replanted or maybe with the track ripped out it looked more opened.Either way it's history.

i remember my 12th grade crim justice teacher lived out by the track. which i thought was cool til i asked him how close he lived his reply was "too close i actually am part of the group trying to get it shut down bc of the noise." lets just say i never did well in that class after i called him a dick and told him to move bc the track was there before he moved out there.
