I don't think I'd call Robert Plant "metal".
Bruce Dickenson is definately #1. Dio's got a good voice too, but he's a strange little man.

Ya know, I've got "Born Again" on my iPod and was listening to Ian Gillan KILL on a Disturbing The Priest. Man, that dude has a great voice. I'd forgotten all about him.
Lemmy is one of my all-time favorite singers, but I wouldn't rate him as the "best" metal voice. "Most distinctive", maybe. ;-)
How 'bout Billy Graziadei and Evan Seinfeld? ;-) :headbang:

Biohazards very cool. Lemmy is awesome, but i know what you meen. I'm a big Ozzy fan but i have to say Born Again is my favorite Sabbath album. "Zero the Hero"... Dio did a great job with Sabbath also.

I saw Sabbath with Ian Gillan, Halloween in 1983. Great show! When they came back for their encore, Tony started up Smoke On The Water. The whole place was silent for a few seconds while everybody tried to figure out what Sabbath song it was. Once they realized what song it really was the place erupted.
I also saw them in August '99 (Ozzy) at Jones Beach, April '86 (Dio) at Nassau Coliseum with WASP and Anthrax (I think), 1982 (Dio) at MSG, 1980 (Dio) at MSG with BOC and '78 (Ozzy) at MSG with Van Halen.
I saw Motorhead a bunch of times, but the best show was at Sundance with Manowar opening for them. That was f'ing LOUD! Ah, there's another guy with a great voice - Eric Adams.

Holy crap. Me and my buddies were at that show at Sundance with Manowar and Motorhead. Joey DeMaio is awesome. We also saw Megadeth, Testament, Flotsam and Jepson (before Jason Newsted sold out), I was also at the Black and Blue show with my brother. We went to a ton of shows up there. Queensryche at Lamores far east. (geoff Tate is an awesome singer)

Get out!
World War III in NY was what the show was called, right? I had a t-shirt for years that said that on the back.

I only saw a couple of shows at L'Amor Far East - Lita Ford once and King Diamond another time. Flotsam & Jetsom opened for King Diamond.
I went to Sundance pretty much every weekend.
I saw.... Manowar probably a hundred times. Motorhead two or three. Megadeth - I remember that show, the place was jammed packed, completely wall to wall. I wound up parking across the street in a dirt lot. Hmmm... Judas Priest (Halford rode his bike in through the side door), SOD, MOD, Anthrax, Creeping Death (Metallica on a warm-up tour), DRI, Sick Of It All, Bad Brains, Danzig, Suicidal Tendencies, Testament, Helloween, Accept, Armored Saint, King Diamond, Venom, Celtic Frost, Morbid Angel, Exodus, Overkill, and probably a hundred others that I can't remember.

Tom "the driller" Brown was one of my best friends cousins. he was the original singer for ANTHRAX way back when, before FISTFUL of METAL came out.We used to go watch them practice in queens studio the size of a walk in closet. We used to get backstage and meet some of the bands.I got MANOWAR to sign a denium jacket I still have. It's got the cover art for the hail to england album on the back, the entire band signed it. They are still playing. they are HUGE in europe, as well as most of the world.Best concert I think I ever saw was the 1st METALLLICA tour, with ANTHRAX and..... RAVEN believe it or not was the headliner, needless to say they got blown off the stage that night and where never heard from again. METALLICA at LAMOUR in brooklyn for ride the lightning tour was also quite memorable I was 3ft from the stage. The good old day's.

I saw them... I think it was at Meadowlands, they opened for Metallica. They're first show in NY after Cliff died. They postponed it from months, when they finally made the show the place was a mad house. All general admission, people were ripping the place up. James came out and yelled at the crowd to stop throwing seat cushions around otherwise they wouldn't play their set. They did, of course. Great show. ;-)
