2 hours to get there, $100 in gas, $50 to get in, then a loss in the 1st round. Another 2-1/2 hours to get home...

That sucks. :-(

Every time I go to E-town there's an oil down or a problem and they start cutting 2nd time runs for classes. Sunday it was my class (of course) and Super. This was my first time out this season and had some issues so I was really looking forward to a second time run to get the bugs worked out... I wound up dialing about almost a tenth lower than my only time run, was ahead at the stripe and got off the gas but still broke out by 2 thousandths. Against a guy with the same name as me, no less.

I like Atco, we usually go for the big $$$ footbrake races at the end of the season. I'm not too keen on Island, it reminds me a lot of the dump that used to be out east.

Yeah but if out dump was still here you would be going to it. Just like the rest of us. I could race more often, test and tune and go to Atco once in a while just to go to a real track...

Damn straight... If I had more seat time I'd be a much better racer. But going to E-Town or Atco a couple of times a year isn't nearly enough.

Any of you guy's try Lebanon.....

I would rather try one of the tracks in the adirondacks then go to either of the NJ tracks..

The bs with the bridge and speed bump/rolling ocean like drive down the bqe is all i need to turn around and head home....double time

We did LVD a few times when AJ was in JR. Drags, no BQE but you that zhit show over at the cross bronx or whatever its called,

But we did always have good time, made a weekend out of it since jr's ran on sat, would race during the day, watch the curve turners at night, then head back before traffic early sunday.

Yeah the oval has some spectacular stuff...Never use the cross bronx...always always use the bruckner...the cross bronx has a 1.5 hour window of no traffic and that is during the week and between 10:30 and 1..or run up 95 or up. . . sob i forget the road

You aren't thinking of the "scenic route" (NY 22) are you?? You catch it off of the top of 684.

I feel your pain... we leave 5:30 am on monday for a track rental at atco... more money being spent elsewhere

The scenic rt is ok in the morning, and i forget where exactly but you kinda can't really miss it you got that bakery there about half way, makes another good argument to take the scenic rt

The trip to new jersey is not the problem. What kills me is the trip home sitting in traffic, it can get old fast. We are running at mopar nationals in May. The trip took a little over one hour, but the tripback Sunday was alomost 3 hr. Strip on Long Island versus NJ seems like a no brainer.

thanks betcha....we all complained how we thought our track was crap...and now that its gone.....weve admited that it was at least a track we didnt have to spend all day driving to.....island is an old time track....but my nova runs in the tens..and if you have a car that runs anywhere from like 12 on up ....your at least feeling at home there...not like englishtown where they cater to the lower single digit race cars...see you there next season...

Well today I had to go look at a job up in Nanuet and what do I pass heading of the island. A total of (6) cars on trailers heading towards NJ to race. Great to see that disposable income being spent off the island.:violent1:
