Town authorizes Rechler contract at EPCAL

Man, I nearly jumped for joy when I saw this headline! But it's for industrial buildings, not a racetrack. :-(


The Town Board on Thursday authorized the signing of a contract with Rechler Equity Partners for the sale of 300 acres of town-owned land at the Calverton Enterprise Park for $35 million.

I saw a blurb similar to this in "newsday". I had about the same reaction too :( ! I still cannot fathom what the Riverhead town board is wrangling about with that runway. They want it, they don't want it, they want someone to buy a piece of it. I must be missing something.

The Newsday article says it was sold to "Repcal", the Times-Review article says "Rechler Equity Partners". I guess they're the same entity?
