Thank you guy's remember that's our voice, so when we gotta go to functions we can say we have this many members backing this, or if it's a certain area we can say we have this many members from this town backing this.

Finally we are a real org, and i will make sure we are the strongest...i have a goal of what the teamsters once were

Mikel started this for everyone, and did this on his own time and dime...so im not saying to leave this as it has it's own importance.

I believe soon in about 2 years, this forum will be the place for everyone at the track to be speaking of there acomplishments at the track every weekend..and getting together for the drag racing and meeting together.
But the other board for LIMA is the organization and needs to have all it's members in place, and pretty much use that board for everything that would be pertinent for it to suceed in what we are fighting for...and in the future i hope we do not need to fight things like this ever again but i will continue on in everyway shape or form to fight for any other form of motorsports we will need or continue to need, and that board shall always remain for anything important such as someone running that may be against our sport or any other function to better us as a very respectful and powerful organization that needs to be recognized.

I have many goals, but 2 right now are to get people off the street and be the # 1 org to teach kids to drive and do it and be the best and be shinning examples of what good we are for the whole of suffolk county and no longer be reffered to as anything else but a exemplary association/organization
In the future when we are fully established i would love for us to be able to do fund raisers for the good of many organizations so we will no longer ever have to hear the motorsports community is ________ and ___________, _________ (you guy's know what im talking about)

Right, I was gonna say the same sort of thing.

This site (lidragracing.com) is all about drag racing. The majority of the people who went to the "town hall" meetings were drag racers, and there are lots and lots of people on LI who are interested in Drag Racing. This site is the place to talk about all things drag racing... Pros, amateurs, racing on the Island, people from the Island racing other places, the plan for a new drag strip etc.

The other site (limotorsports.net) is for the whole LI Motorsports community. There are people who have no interest in drag racing, they're into ATVs, road racing, bumper cars, whatever. Evereything but drag racing. That's why the "drag racing" forum on limotorsports.net is a link back to this site, so people can talk about the non-drag racing stuff over there and the drag racing stuff over here. And on this site, there's a forum call "Long Island Motorsports Association", which links back to that site. On top of that. Marty is more involved in the political and community oriented aspects of LI Motorsports, so that sort of thing will be discussed there.

I don't want to see people abandon this site for the other one, and I don't want see people come over here when the the topics they're discussing are better suited for the other site. We're all working towards a common goal - to get a place for us to race on Long Island. I'm just more focused on Drag Racing while Marty has broader goals.

This site was initially set up when Top Gun abandonded their forum, the people who were on there had no place to go to stay in touch with each other and discuss goings-on. Now that the limotorsports.net board is up, the people who wanted to get together to plan rallys, share information about political events and whatever else can do that there. The people who want to talk drag racing can do that here.

Besides... limotorsports.net is hosted on my server, if people start going over there instead of here I can just redirect the traffic back to here. Nah, I'm just kidding... I wouldn't do that. ;-)

Another issue is if this site becomes very political and only about fighting for goals we have there, it may become an issue when the new facility is built and have reputation for being a fighting organizatioon and not a forum for those interested in the sport...

And that is kinda happening, there are a few threads with that kind of info thrown into a topic that shouldn't be there and can change a persons mind as to what is this about..

Having said that, make no mistake I am all about motorsports, I Drag race and i Road race, i have a car for both, I even oval race as can be seen at RR with the jeep, I also Off-Road and have 100 acres upstate that i use primarily for that, and some hunting and private long range shooting...There is no form of motorsports i do not enjoy, including Karting...

If i had more money i would have more cars and be more diversified...but as you know this isn't no cheap grab your equipment in a duffle bag sport and go play.
