Hey How did it go?I stayed away because I was afraid that I would go off on Cardinale.For the last 2 elections I worked his campaign and this year I walked Away.
The other Riverhead blog Riverhead news .com said that Cardinale seemed upset because his campaign manager and running mates were not there.His campaign Manager Hal Lindstrom had alot to do with getting Cardinale to vote against the track.Hal lives in Calverton and don't like noise.
From what I got off of the site it seems like you all should be proud .

I was there, I liked the letter from Levy, the way Cardinale showed his other face, the way Stark said in a nice way that Carrdinale was full of shit and best of all when Super put his hand on Cardinale's shoulder you could see the fear right through his shades. The turnout could of been better but for Cardinale to show he must of been shiting himself.

Everything was well said, and the letter from levy was good. i dont think anyone got it on tape, but they did say they were going to give the letter from levy to the local press. The Postive :) Great weather. Well credit must give to all organizers of today. Again I want to say that supershaft and fordboy did a great job speaking. The politicians on all sides have taken notice of this issue and now they are coming to address us specifically.:D What else can you say Cardinale apparently is backtracking and trying to find something in theory to address our concerns. We will see on that. Levy sends a letter backing a motorsports club. I spoke to some of the police officers and like all the others I have spoken to, a racetrack can not only be fun but make our roads safer by taking racing of the street. Finally, it is great to finally start meeting people from the board.

The negative :mad: I think the axle bearing is going on my car. Something to do tomorrow. Where was everybody?!!! Showing could of been much better. The way everyone was talking on this and other boards, you would of thought this was going to be another woodstock. People, we have politicans come to us now this is where we need numbers when we this type of oportunites. As the old saying goes the sweaky wheel gets the grease.

Summary: A motorsports park for Long Island I believe is attainable but we only have a small window to do it. Let's all keep the pressure up. :cool:

As far as the distribution of flyers goes,the way I see it there is only a handful of guys doing it and a lot of ground to cover.Most of us are out east as the word spreads west it wound be nice to get a little help there.Maybe if someone could cover shows they go to regularly.Your there anyway.I've offered to print flyers and meet but noone bites.I have over 500 parade flyers left over I just didn't have the time to hand them out.I offered them up here but got no response.Blaming each other isn't gonna help and is the reason the tracks disappeared in the first place,working together,each one that can,doing a little the word would be spread and the goals would be achieved.Today was what it was.They know we're out there or they would pay no attention to us.Some positive things came out.Learn from it come up with new ideas help if you can that's what this site is all about.My sermon is over you may now bless yourselves:rolleyes:

Yes as many cars weren't there i agree, but you can't change pplz. People suck. What you said was great. It was HEARD. I was out there for the cause, i could of stayed home with my infant and made up some excuse that she was to young..but my husband and I came because of what we believe and came to support.

as far as the kohl's shows and handing out flyers...betcha and I had no idea about this until tuesday. The kohl's shows are every saturday...im sry i couldnt help ya there.

Not to mention i only know who supershafts is, well not even like that i tried to introduce myself yesterday but you were busy. I had to leave after all was said and done because my baby was fussy. WE stayed there through the whole discussion with cardinale...including when the news guys tumbler went lol.

If you gave us flyers then we woulda handed them out. We posted it on our forum ECLECTICCUSTOMS.ORG, G35NYC.COM, B20VTEC.COM, NYmontecarloclub.com...we put it out there as quick as we could.

Instead of bashing people why don't you ask this.Where were the Riverhead drivers?Where were all of those Riverhead boys and girls whos vote matters?Where was those drivers and their families?
Another thing ,there were NO legislators there.Cardinale ,Stark and Densieski are all local candidates.There votes are all for Riverhead.Just like Foley is for Brookhaven.Levy is doing this because he and Card are not best of friends.Levy wants Stark for more reasons than a track.One of my questions is.Why is Riverhead sticking it to the entire County?If a track is built all that tax generated helps alll of the county.Riverhead is the County seat.So why is the County seat not caring about the County?Oh by the way those 500 acres is all Pine Barrens and the DEC has alot to say about that acreage.

I thanked everyone that came out yesterday personally...

I specifically where my jackets and shirts 24 -7 - 365 so when people see it they hopefully come and ask me something...Just butt in kid im not gonna yell at you....i only yell at everyone that keeps telling me im coming and doesn't show up

AS for handing out Flyers

You can't wait for flyers, there are times we hear of a last minute meeting between legs and have no time for flyers (see tuesday) if you are there just tell them...go here see this board, call me, whatever you have to do at the moment to get them there...tell them i heard there is free food

Do You know how many people i told and wrote the info and where to find it on post it's, business cards, pieces of paper...

Just friday i had spoke to and wrote where to go and what to do to 35 people...that was just friday...forget the rest of the week...I got to ups and spoke to them also...i didn't see 1 of them there...
there are 500 people i did not see yesterday that had been with us before all the time dedicated...

Everywhere i go i am telling someone, writing it down for them , explaining...
I do not just do this here a few hours a day, when i go to a store, when i go anywhere, after the parade yesterday i went all thru riverhead, then went to the RR to let them know...
I take this very seriously...i got home yesterday at 5pm...

All i did yesterday was spread the word, it's what im going to do monday, tuesday (and attend the RH town hall), wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday (and attend epcal) and repeat it all again next week...

Then im asked by all the media how many are showing... and i go hmmm i got 180 ph calls already and between 7 different sites we got about 11,000 hits on those posts, got another 3,000 hits on the political board....now i weigh whats really gonna happen and take the 180 phone calls and the 11,000 and the 3,000 site hits and i tell them im expecting 1400 ..... hmf and then i get 50 to actually drive with us and another 20 are there waiting and another 20 show up 40 minutes late...not 40 minutes after 9:20....40 minutes after 10:30 and 1 gentlemen who found out about it from a phone call made to him from a friend who seen us parade thru.


Did anyone see news 12 yesterday....i called them, they knew, well i guess after the last bad showing they figured this would be the same as yaphank....

Only news 55 called with why they couldn't make it.

All the Riverhead drivers were out of NY state not sacrificing, along with a lot of fans...instead they were enjoying themselves at another track...while my road car sat in the garage as it has done for 4 years or so, and my drag car sat in the garage as it does regulary while those guys were out of NY state....having damn great time...

First off your not my boss.I have been flapping my lips around this Town for along time on this subject.I live here and my problem is not who didn't show up for you but who didn't show up from here.Where were the local racers?That would make a larger impact.They are the people that will decide who stays and goes here in Riverhead.
Riverhead raceway announced the Rally.The track last week was buzzing with anger.Jarzombek,Hartman,Oliver,Turbush,Tooker,Brig anti,Bagshaw,Chew where were they?Where were their families?Where were their sponsors?Thats the problem not enough locals.Why are they not coming.Telling the drivers off is not going to help you getting them motivated enough to show is what you should be doing.
I feel your passion.I understand the love for this sport but don't bash me .
I have been in the face of all the board members not at Town meetings but face to face.Thats how I work and I can guarantee you something happened because they all were very positive in my conversations.They all including Cardinale were supportive.

I compl. agree and thanks for letting me in on the expressway lol. Racing to us is a FAMILY affair. Steve and I both grew up with it and having been traveling to jersey for a while...get this i'm originally from RI which is a whole hell of a way to NJ.

Listen to me please..cardinale called us to make a deal for 500 acres of which 420 are useless acres..
This was done before the parade, he wants no part of losing his job..he was told like he was yesterday...now the deal is 755 + the 500 and at 152 mil... and i told him you can tell the ski people no, there is no contract signed yet and he is still not listening ... do you know why that is...

Because he doesn't want the air field to remain along with 2 other idiots actually 3 other idiots ..blass the other 2 are rex farr and cardinales boy there... sob i can't remember his name something strom...

That is why they went with the ski thing because even if they do it and it will be considerably smaller any pilot will be told landing is your risk...bingo air field gone...

Bottom line without all this above....cardinale supportively fed you bs positively so you'll leave him alone....he has no intention of doing the right thing and our deal is 755 + the 500 at the same price..

When we lost bridgehampton i parked that car and said i will not use it again till we get it back...for years i went and checked bridgehampton only to see that even the court order of leaving the track layout in place was ignored and then i said until we have another rd course here...

You have to "advertise" it like that, not a Parade to EPCAL, A cruise to EPCAL to support a LI Track. See how wording it the one way makes ppl think. "you can' have a parade without permits" etc. But call it a cruise and every ones down.

My two cents: Just as it is UNFATHOMABLE to me that the RVD idiots chose the snow mountain, it is JUST as UNFATHOMABLE to me why people will tell you to your face that they are coming to the parade and then DON"T SHOW. They are simply......selfish people. They can't be bothered to spend some time away from their comfort place. Well, to all those people, you are getting exactly what you deserve. No track. What cliche shall I use????

Yet these same people will complain and complain and complain that they have to go NJ or wherever. We SHOW them that small, active civic groups get HEARD and get THEIR WAY. These lazy, selfish people see this in the form of NO TRACK and STILL they don't get MOVED enough to join a parade. I have to tell you all. I am truly ashamed at the lack of effort. I am sorry but I just have to vent. This experience is truly like being the teacher in a 5th grade classroom. Even taking them by the HAND is not enough.!! And I don't mean to include evrybody. So some of you Know Andy and Alan both have spent many a day walking thru shopping areas and food stores talking with everyone there and having them sign paper work that was then mailed in on there dime.....

Handing people flyers gets about as much attention as dropping a penny...some pick it up and a lot don't...

If you look at what we found with handing them info there even to lazy to do that...sign it and mail it in...At 1 time we handed out over 10,000 flyers for site sign up less then half ever came to sign in..

So to combat that for other things Andy and Alan spent days at different locations having people sign and they mail it in for them....

When you hand them a flyer you must grab there hand and explain what it is to each and everyone of them...it's hard but i can honestly say i have probably spoken to more people then more then half the people that run for office put together..

Very soon in the near furture we are going to need 8 volunteers to do some heavy last minute campaign work...

For everyone that see's this if you think you can do it...let us know

I am not sure if we were at the same car show. I went to the one in Port Washington. Like usual everyone agrees we need a track. I also gave a few a brow beating because they did not make the event yesterday like they said they would but they could go there and sit with their drag cars at car show. What is wrong with this picture? A drag car at car show shouldn't it be at a drag strip today on Long Island, but wait we have none. The excuse were as usual B.S. Look I understand having to work or going to a wedding, etc. But come on all the other ones that made time to go to car show have to make time for this. Wake up Long Island or get used to traffic on the outer bridge on a sunday afternoon coming home from Englishtown.

You would think that everyone that is into motorsports especially the guys with race cars, bikes ,atv's,and any other motorized race vehicle would have showed.That same day i noticed all these nicely polished cars driving around with one person driving them, and where were they all going?.A car show to park the car, when we have a golden opportunity to have a first class destination for motorsprts, it continues to boggle my mind.

To those that didn't "you shouldda been there!" What was read while we were there from the CE still sounds good (even though he has no real say in this piece of land)). You know me and Alan were speaking about a senario that 1 day will pan out...
Were sitting in the lanes talking about all this and looking back on it and thinking what we all did to get it, and talking about all the comradery and lack of bbq together due to always chasing down something and breaking someones balls and thinking back on everyone involved and what we all did....
Just think your son will be able to be involved with that discussion because he was there...and when we all have that discussion at the track and people want to know about all the fun in this we had...we can tell them you had to be there...
And then i can break all your balls when im cleaning the line and putting more water then you need....lol then i can get back to my practical joking and start talkin shit again and say not only am i gonna spank you going straight..but then we'll hit the road course and i'll spank you there too...
