Riverhead Raceway for sale?

It looks like the current owners of Riverhead Raceway are looking to sell. The last remaining racetrack on Long Island - which has been open since the 1940s - is sitting on land that’s worth around $20 million dollars. The good news is that the current owners want to sell it to somebody who will guarantee that it will stay open as a racetrack.

From what i understand that can not happen....

According to the town of riverhead the track can only be operated as a track by a blood relative of the crommartys..... So if that is true as we understand the grandfathering of that, there will be no tracks on long island...

UNLESS the people of suffolk county freak the f out and demand for it to changed....

However that would involve, marching, demonstrations, and rallies....

Don't we know 1st hand how that goes...
