Theres one main difference between other states and Long Island. Here on LI we have NO land left for a track. in other states they just move 100ft down the road and they're in another county.

My family has had property upstate since before i was born, my uncle had a farm...Had a farm there...i can't believe how the people from Ny would buy a vacation house and then want to change everything up there...there fighting cement plants, rock crushing plants...i was like wtf is wrong with you...this is there jobs you scumbags, there jobs that were here long before you knew of this area and now you came here and have a summer house and you want it gone...you should all die...

Third that
I still want to move down south, looks like I'll have other options if Burton doesn't get to build his track, but I got a feeling he'll get it passed, he $peak$ politician.
Plus if everything else stays the same the 1/10 I'll have to pay in taxes sure would go a long way on my car..

Once the value of land goes up there it will be the same as here. The Carolina's are Long Island forty years ago.It will be alright for us but our kids will pay the price.I looked at property in the Mooresville area Race City USA,around Lake Norman.Nice area but your hard pressed to find any locals there, you know the race people. In twenty years it will be golf city USA,taxes included.Take a stand here even if you move it could set a precedent that future racers could look back on for inspiration.Lots of Yankees down there.
Oh they'll probably retain some tracks but it might be a drive.Sound familiar?

I could live with living on cheap land in a cheap house for 40 years. My wife and I are planning on making the move down there, probably next year. He sister is moving up from Florida, and her parents will probably come along too. I'm looking forward to visiting each and every one of those drag strips in NC. ;-)

MY RESPONSE.
"Backlash from Town Board Vote on EPCAL Hits Hard.
The backlash from the Town Board Vote on EPCAL, has taken on its own life. It only took a day after the vote for the people to come out against the Town Board Vote for the Ski Mountain and 90 acre lake project. Everything from petitions to rallies have been started. Considering that Supervisor Cardinale has done nothing for almost four years why would he rush into this decision right before an election? Could this really cost him the election?" You bet it will, the MOTORSPORTS community is voting all the town board members who opposed the WWW.EPCALCENTRE.COM PLAN.OUT OF OFFICE.
POLL
Did riverhead choose the right redevelopment plan for the calverton site?
YES 9%
NO 91%
I would say that's what you would call a landslide victory for MOTORSPORTS and the EPCAL proposal.
Check out any blog or survey and it's the same story. All for MOTORSPORTS.I was at the town board meeting, myself and a lot of others who attended can say first hand how unorthodox and unproffesional the town board went about the towns buisness, like it was an auction house. I can still hear cardinale now... o.k. we'll start the bidding at 140 million..PATHETIC.Total disregard for the MAJORITY and what the community wanted. They voted with the MINORITY "special"or should I say "SELFISH" interest CIVIC GROUPS. Thinking they( the politicians )would be hurt in the upcoming election. How ironic it is now that the town board voted with their personal interests in mind only to have it come back and bite them in the arse right before ELECTION TIME. LIKE THE CREDIT CARD COMMERCIAL SAYS"PRICELESS".
