had breakfast at a Dinner in NJ (6 people total)
Had diner at a Turnpike rest stop in NJ (6 people total)
gassed up $100.00 of gas on the Turnpike in NJ
Stopped at a store to buy junk food for 6 people in NJ.
At the track there were at least 10 other cars there with NY plates and at least 25 guys from NY.
How much money did NY/ LI loose or refused to make?
I am planning on going back to Atco on black Friday.
How much more money is NY/LI NOT going to make??

Not cheap at all
Showing how stupid NewYorkers are for not wanting to take my play money so instead i am giving it away to another state which does nothing for my local economy.

I may be there black friday as well if it is not too cold.
11.74 nice!!! Hey Jersey gets it, that F-1, ten year deal they just signed will bring $150,000,000.00 a year and it's done on public roads minimum expense. That's one event. Vote for fat loud people named Chris he inked that deal. Imagine a politician pushing for racing! "not here" Think the runway layout and service roads existing at EPCAL could support a race like that uh oh one person said no I guess it won't work here. $150,000,000.00 not needed here that's chump change. The sales of bird watching equipment has that covered and you don't even have to guarantee birds the fun is searching for them. Sometimes there just aren't enough poisonous snakes. Ah the beauty of nature.
I hear ya loud and clear, went to Atco yesterday 11/12 took my family and money and spent it in NJ, good news though they finally paved the bad spots on the BQE and Verranzo...smooth ride didn't take 20k miles off my truck/trailer and also ran the fastest time I've gone so far 9.81, not to shabby for a 9.5:1 358 small block on just carb. The air was perfect, we got there and the DA was -550' and I don't think it went over +500 all day. To bad I couldn't spend it here!
I was at Atco yesterday (11/13) and the air was still quite good. Picked up .3 between changes and the air getting cooler. If I just could have got one more pass..... The BQE repaving was a welcome surprise. :D

i heard that there was a 15 mile backup on the 95....friends went too....comming back was a ride from hell......we need a track
I don't come back that way. I did hear about it when I got home. I was home in four hours, which is how long it takes me to get there toll free. So between 3.07 for regular, (3.37 for 93 for the hot rod) and some good times, it was $200 well spent. Just in the wrong state.

Only $200 wow, gas and tolls for me to get there is $150, then the $ to get in, food, fuel and nitrous for the car.
Oh yea I'm in for at least a $500 day when all is said and done, diesel fuel and tolls is the killer, wouldn't have any of that traveling to EPCAL and just think how much better the environment would be. All said and done it was still cheaper than the guy that flipped his car and burned to the ground, thank God he was fine, just goes to show you what racing is like in a safe place.

ouch...that happened when you were there??? thank god for the safety rules in drag racing.....
Glad to hear the guy walked a wreck like that would put me out of business. It would be back to the stands and watch.
There was one got away at the big end yesterday also. http://youtu.be/w_WKFtXoCQs

The truck I borrow gets better than 12 mpg towing. I pay no tolls going. My folks live 40 minutes away so I eat there before coming back.(they miss me) I do spend a bit to come home though, and the bill for that has yet to be seen. (ez pass) But it is a straight shot up the GSP from their house to Perth Amboy. (gas top off) The rest is the same. ($40 tech card, Outer Bridge toll etc)
Damn, didn't see that one, cold track, short wheelbase, big motor...NO GOOD!
We we're towing my buddies TAD back from his run and saw all the smoke and flames, stopped on the return road for a look see.

Delon was fortunate. nothing hurt but his pride. There was another that got loose earlier too. Those 26" tires are like a double edge sword.

Was in my car waiting for second round in super when the Camaro crashed but was told that it got loose early and tried to get back into it then lost it. I was thinking about the track getting cold and dew during the clean up but that became a non issue when I broke the rear for the first time in about 15 years.

It is also about bringing the NJ/PA racers to tow their vehicles to LI! :3gears:
If we had a first class facility here like NY National was they would be traveling and spending
their money in our local economy.
Mike
If you build it they would come, you can bet on that.
