I got this reply from Bartunek, I'm going to cool off a bit before I reply

Dear Mr. Zaun,

Regarding the Riverhead Town Board’s decision for the development of the recreationally zoned property at EPCAL, please be assured that there was no “under handed deal” made and that I do indeed sleep OK with the decision that was made. I made my decision based upon my perception that the Riverhead Resorts project would be the more environmentally friendly of the two projects. As you may or may not be aware, my route to the Town Board was as a person very concerned with environmental protection. I would also like to share with you a conversation that I had with two of my neighbors about the project, one lived in Baiting Hollow and the other in Calverton, very close to EPCAL. My neighbor in Baiting Hollow stated that he didn’t really care whether we had a race trackat EPCAL or not because he would be retiring soon and would move away from the area. The other person is a racing fan who was naturally in favor of the track. When I asked him about the noise that would be generated, he said that he would actually rent his house out and move to another area. Actually I can only think of one other person from that part of Riverhead who supported the race track theme. So basically it seems that we would be resolving the location of a race track in Riverhead for a lot of fans who do not even life in Riverhead and who would not be concerned about the noise, traffic congestion, and pollution that would result from the track.

Thank you for your interest,

George M. Bartunek

Riverhead Town Board

Subject: Mis-representation

To the members of the Riverhead Town Board:

Shame on you all. You stated you would do what was best for Riverhead, Suffolk county and Long Island. You lied. This eye sore of a frozen hill will not generate revenue and you did not supporting what the people of Riverhead and Long Island asked for.

The real family sports and recreation proposal would have worked with the local residence and noise mitigation would have been put in place not to cause an issue with the National cemetery (where my mother is buried)

I hope what ever under handed deal you made helps you sleep at night.

Thanks,

Jim Zaun

MR BARTUNEK
you and the other three board members that voted against the epcal proposal gave in to the minority (civic groups) and turned a blind's eye to the majority. Now when it comes time for re election the majority will vote you out of a job and you will have plenty of time to hangout with your pals the (selfish interest )civic groups. The giant snow cone is a half ass project approved by an unprofessional half ass town board.Start working on your resume you'll need it after the election.

I think we need to get the opinion of every politician U.S.senate down as to their feelings if they think we deserve or need a race complex on L.I.(hard copy)and why if they do,they don't help us or didn't stop the purge knowing it would get to this point. This is called foresight something as politicians they should have by nature. They spend more time and money on illegal issues making it easier for them.Well when the fk are they going to spend a little time on us the paying customer. We need and have a rite to know.A politician with foresight would have pushed to save LID.It all could have been done at that site.Fk the people that moved in there the track was there first but politicians turned their backs even cheered to its demise as if we were the enemy. In one of Shafts posts he stated the agreement at the time of the sale of Calverton was for the good of Suffolk County and speedway facilities were to be provided>this IS a BREACH of CONTRACT and our politicians should be brought to bare the responsibility as to how this is acceptable being an inter governmental agreement.Shafts you should think about the wig it might bring in more customer but then you would probably break one in half when they pull out their shaft:D
