A parade from the county line to Epcal.....

1. Meet at the the east bound side of the lie service road from exit 48 up is where we should start lining up.. at 9am..do to the media wanting exact times we will be pulling out at 9:20am

2. The lead vehicle A dodge crew cab will have the banners with the appropriate slogans for all of us, and should be clear enough that others will want to join us in procession..

3. We will proceed at a calm 50/55 mph for all the guy's bringing there cars that have steep gears, this is not a race, we want to be seen, we want everyone to see how many of us are being ignored

4. When you get there if the line up is long go to the front and line up down 1 of the intersecting streets...or hit the REST STOP between 50 and 51..and when the truck goes by with the banners merge in...

Keep watching this post for updates as to what else is happening

I extend this invitation out to our 2 wheel handicapped brothers on Bikes..

I was thinking run up the service road and get all lined up and as we leave those that are down the side street at the 2 intersections prior to entering the l.i.e. jump in line..

Figure it like this start the assembly at 49...by the time we enter it'll be passed 110 at that on ramp...so we got all that service rd and those 3 intersection really and then the on ramp..

If we pull it so everyone meets at say 9, 10am perfectly figure it'll be a 10 minute leave off for the rest to get in line and then we lead off easy and 1 of us lags behind as the chaser telling the lead car take it up at 55..
The cars down the side streets like 110 all make there join to the line when the light turns red for the eastbound service rd and we will have a continued entrance to the l.i.e. ansd when the light turns green for the east bound service we have a continous flow onto the l.i.e.

then split to 2 lanes..right and center....keep it tight, then all vehicles need some type of display so people will understand what's going on...

I don't see where you came up with loud and obnoxious...

Getting out in the publics eye and letting thousands of others know what's going on is a good thing, also understand that we are showing we aren't taking this answer and just walking away...

Something we have never done, everytime someone say's no, everyone just walks...

Besides no matter what it's a win win for us....

1. were getting more people to see us and get involved
2. were showing the elected officials we aren't walking away anymore, and they can see how many of us there really is to worry about voting them out
3. we get to take a cruise
4. we get to take a cruise with a purpose other than just because
5. we get to meet eachother
6. we get to park at the end and have our own car show, which will attract others.
7. get more ideas from people that don't trust the internet...trust me we have quite a few people that do not post

“I don't see where you came up with loud and obnoxious...”

‘Suicide666’ stated: “I'm down, the louder the better right???”

You 'Supershafts' replied: "Absolutely"

'Suicide666' then states: "Well get some crew there the earth will shatter. Hope they got those tombstones in good lol"

Now, If that’s not asking for loud and obnoxious, I don’t know what is!

An organized show of force is one thing that just might work. Us driving around revving our motors and being loud will only fortify them in their decision. We will be seen as a bunch of low-class, knuckle-dragging idiots!

Is this what we want to happen?

Everyone better be on the same page here!

It only takes one idiot to kill this for us all!

How about we all have dinner together at the Diner (Station Rd.) and talk about strategy. If we think a parade is gonna work, great. However, "the louder the better" will NOT be a good idea. Right now, sigs on a petition (RVD residents only) will carry more weight than a parade of outsiders, especially if those outsiders are loud and obnoxious. Densieski has told me REPEATEDLY that what is needed is RVD resident input, not outsiders. The reason for this is THEY VOTE, we don't. The very LIFE BLOOD of a politician are the VOTES. Without them, they wither and die.
Also, I have just gotten a huge break, I think. I made a contact directly to Levy and there is a better than 50/50 chance that I will be allowed an audience with him. Believe me, it is not easy to get an appointment to sit down and talk face to face with Levy. I am also waiting for a draft from someone that is crafting a petition. Not to mention, let's see what Jim Stark has to say this coming week at his press conference. I don't know about you guys, but I would like to have all this info before we plan our next move. Let's not react out of pure emotion and anger. Lets eat and talk first, OK?

Fordboy, the petition is NOT for Riverhead residents only, anyone that cares to can sign. Hometowns will be noted on the final copy. Hopefully Riverhead, Calverton, Aquebogue, Jamesport and Wading River (all villages within the township of Riverhead) get a good-sized showing.

Forward this link to all in your address books.

Instead of us signing petitions to give them how about we email the politicians and ask them if their for us and will help our cause not just Riverhead but all L.I. as this is an island wide delemia. The email should state real action not talk and no response wil be considered a vote against.Provide them a place to weigh in and count. At the end of parade read off the names as to their choice.Bring bullhorn and voter registeration cards to hand out.In local elections a couple hundred votes can swing outcome. If votes count this my friends wil bring attention especially if the media is there. We should let oppenents respond also.Election day is around the corner. They should come to us.Address the letter to public servant form letter with same heading.Shafts I did write such aletter a while back and left you a copy with that other stuff if you still have it,if not post and I'll email Mike so he can post it here.

No no... if we do not start showing the numbers of people for all to see we will lose any fear we have with them right now..

Stark will have his press conference which quite a few of us will attend and then while it is still hot we have the parade the very next day to epcal and set up protest there...unless someone comes and asks for drivers licenses from each and every one of us they don't know where we are from, and i am calling senators and every single news outlet on the island we need to be a huge overwhelming amount of people...

I don't know why anyone would think a showing of cars and bikes cruising to a destination will be able to do anything other then follow.

Not to mention the people that will see it and become interested to know what's going on...

Now there is also the door to door idea in riverhead and getting people to sign a form stating there want that would be good...

But right now we need to be upset and let them see how many truly are, and let them know it stems from one end of suffolk to the other, let the other legs understand there all under the gun

I have to say I did not watch news 12 myself every day, even with the excitment of having a weather and traffic update every three minutes. If you could get a major a channel that would be great, but it is amazong though that this will be the largest private development project in Long Island history and for the most part it is unseen in the news. Worse yet most people have no clue about this project either.

Lets eat and talk first, OK?While I'm for the parade Fordboy does make a good point as to a strategy.A focal point at the end of the run and order and professionalism during the run are very important,we don't want to come off as a bunch of out of control punks. This will only give fuel for the fire for those that oppose the idea of a motorsports park. For those attending keep this in mind, there's a time and a place for everything lets concerntrate on the place.Imagine if someone was to get hurt or kill on the run, well that will get the medias attention and effectively seal the fate of our cause.I think a chain of command is in order to lead the rally and do the speaking at Calverton so we come off as organized and united, not just a bunch of people standing around looking at cars.Like the way Al Sharpton does. You may not like him but he knows how to get attention

I'm all for rallys as you all know, but, at this point, how can we be gauranteed the type of turnout that we NEED? This rally stuff is a double edged sword. I thought the Yaphank rally was going to be BIG but it fizzled like a wet firecracker. There were only at most 250 people there. Thats why I want everyone to calm down and lets see the outcome of upcoming events. (Jim Stark press conference, etc.) A ski jump will NOT be allowed to fly. RVD jsut sealed the fate of Calverton for the next 2-3 years. Nothing will happen there. It will be left as is. The zoning board will not allow a 350 ft. high structure there because it will open the door for MORE high structures. This WILL NOT HAPPEN. When you get stung like we just were, it's natural to want to strike back, BUT this needs PLANNING. The Yaphank rally was opposite car shows, flea markets etc and alot of folks went to the car show instead. Those crappy CIVIC organizations with their low membership meet, talk, plan, stategize, etc and THEN act. I say we get together after the weeks events unfold and have a meeting.

I agree. As pissed off about this as I am( as i'm sure we all are) I still feel we need to have a strategy.Let's try to get some political big wigs, celebrtities, local merchants and people of influence who would enjoy and benefit from a first class motorsports park.
I was just up at english town for the trucking nationals and really absorbed the whole concept of N.J. area around track ( million dollar homes) no traffic ,yet similar road's to L.I.. police directing traffic ( we took up two lanes out of park) No problem.
Has anybody seen all the empty stores and delapitated building's ( as well as illegals) in downtown riverhead? I was riding my bike through there to westhampton and was laughing thinking what a bunch of morons that the town board doesn't see or don't want to see what a first class entertainment and motorsports park would do for riverhead, hell, long island for that matter it. boggles the mind.

IF the pressure stops so will this.....

Sharpton never held a rally and did it organized and orderly, yelling and saying all kinds of bs...please i am from HB i was there with his BS and his BS got attention....way more attention then we have, and it got more fire going, there parade thru the streets got attention....we don't have that much attention, and we don't have enough coverage...

You know why....they think we aren't that many...so if we do not get out there in the PEOPLES eye not hidden in some damn parking lot no one will take us seriously...

We have thousands of letters in RHT and they still said fuck them we'll vote the way we were told...

Holy shit guy's that tells you they do not fucking care or worry about us....THEY WEREN'T PHASED there not SEEING IT.....THEY NEEED to SEE IT

Do not start this indecisive shit like last time a damned week before, we should have been at the god damn county building like i wanted not the damned parking lot in fucking captree...where it was illegal to raise a voice of concern on a matter

al would have marched right to the county building....al... the idiot he is gets his way...wtf i am not doing anything but in your face, i listened to you guy's last time and i called off the county building deal....big mistake...not again.

Sorry guy's i have already reached out to people all over NY, i am not doing it again at this last minute..

We need to organize some high up politicians, local buisness( wineries) ,celebrities (hampton celebs into racing) news media, general populace (who don't want a giant snow cone). We need to get organized, promote, and then have a huge ass rally/ carshow/barn burning lol. Last gathering was pathetic, a lot of people are lazy. Based on the above we are done unless we can get some real press to uncover the tainted vote.

Please post up EXACTLY what is supposed to occur for this parade. Everybody needs to know exactly where they are meeting up, what time and where to. This way we can hit the boards with a very itemized post which the moderators can then make a sticky and hopefully begin a running list per board so we know who is attending.

Guy's n gals.Since we no longer have a motorsports park to enjoy our hobbies, I was thinking. Until the motorsports park does or doesn't happen, we will all have some more free time on our hands.... to enjoy are new hobby. I'm talking about racing....political racing.
Let em know (all opposed to motorsports) that this is now everyone's new hobby, and we won't stop until we get back a place to enjoy our old hobby.
Imagine for a momment, if they took ALL the GOLF COURSES away? All the cranky ass, N.I.M.B.Y.,YUPPIE GOLFERS would have to go to N.J. to swing a club.Or better yet had to play INDOOR MINITURE GOLF... at GOLF MOUNTAIN.
The politicians would NEVER hear the end of it.The CRANKY ASS,N.I.M.B.Y.,YUPPIES WOULD BITCH TILL EVERYONE IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT'S EARS BLED ...and their HEADS EXPLODED.Why I ask should we be any different?
They would love to stamp out motorsports all together and see us all vanish along with it. And that will probably happen for me, my 5yrs plan or hopefully less and i'm off sandtrap island. But while I am still here, I'm taking as many of the political N.I.M.B.Y.'S to task as I can .I pose the question to all motorsports fans and participants, Are we going to just roll over and quit?

She said "My father died 9/29/06 and he was president of his motorcycle club (vietnam vet riders). This saturday his group as planned a memorial run for him. We are leaving my house at 10:00 going to calveton national cemetary, which is on the same road as epcal. I wanted to know if the road was going to be completely blocked with all the cars, and if we would be able to get thru all the cars. This day is extremely important to me and I want to go off with out a snag. Any details that you can provide would be greatly appreciated."

I don't know where there house is thought that there leaving from at 10am

At 10 am i expect we would already be at Epcal...from the F-14 back...

IN order for us to have any effect on them we would need 15,000 or better...im not that convinced that many are coming to this...not that i do not want it...

The truck is gonna stop at the F-14 everyone else would park along the east side and west side of 25 i see no problem for them coming thru...there is lots of room there...after the media thing which won't be long i want to take a atleast half of everyone with me to parade at another location not far from there so they can read the message we have clearly and not wait for the news...

Ask her to call me at the shop 631-286-2299 i'll talk with her and make sure there isn't a problem

Laurie no one is going to get nasty..if they get nasty there going against US and Me and i will take it personally...

I am confrontational but im not going to look to hit anyone or kill them...(the thought though)

All we have ever done was come with facts and proof and show people what is what, how it works how the fairy tale problems they hear are silly and back it up with proof...

They do not listen and continue with these insane movie fantasies of what the motorsports community is...

On the other hand i was brought up from a family that taught me right from wrong, and to have respect for people and to do what is right... and to keep my reputation and nose clean.. Something other people are going to only wish they did
For that i have to thank My Father and both my Grandfathers who are no longer with me... My closet is clean and you'll find wonderful things, other peoples closets aren't anything like mine and im going to air them out...i've been in a few already...but that's next week....i can't wait for tomorrow and now im wishing my life away for next week to be here sooner..

Then we'll let the people decide who do you want to stand behind....

Me > empty clean closet, perfect reputation only helping people....and a Motorsports person...

OR

Them > horrible things, and not nice people and only for themselves (watch everything about the people they stand behind come out next week)

You decide who you want to stand behind...

your civic leaders that are so filthy it'll make you sick

OR

The guy that likes Cars and participates in all forms of racing....

The worst thing you'll find on me is a few seat belt tickets, a few failure to signal lane change tickets.... BUT not 1 felony, or misdemeanor.

Motorsports = good helping people, help eachother and help you

Others = some interesting reading of felonies and all kinds of illegal activities

WALLY PARKS PASSES | Print | E-mail
Written by CompetitionPlus
Saturday, 29 September 2007

Wally Parks, the driving force behind the formation of NHRA, has died at the age of 94. It was Parks’ vision, goals and unconditional commitment to the need for speed and side-by-side racing in a safer, more controlled environment that created what is today the world's largest motorsports governing body.

"Today is a sad day in the world of NHRA and the sport of drag racing," said Tom Compton, president of NHRA. "Words simply can't describe the immeasurable impact Wally has had on the sport he created and the millions of people's lives he touched along the way. The name Wally Parks is synonymous with drag racing, and his vision and direction will guide NHRA for years to come. Everyone in drag racing, and the industries formed to service the sport, will forever be indebted to Wally, his vision, his focus and his desire to create, build and grow NHRA."

“Wally spent his lifetime doing what he loved,” said Dallas Gardner, chairman of the NHRA board of directors. “He marked the path and led the way for this incredible industry and the sport of drag racing. Wally was NHRA, and through his dream came a path to follow with lofty goals and ambition. He put the people in place and trusted in them. He has not abandoned us. He has left us with a road map that he knows will be followed.”

Parks, who founded NHRA in 1951, received countless awards in the motorsports world and played a pivotal role in the establishment of an entire industry devoted to speed and automotive aftermarket parts and accessories that today is a multibillion-dollar business. Yet Parks never implied that he did it all himself. His pride and joy, and where he spent most of his time in recent years while still serving on NHRA's board of directors, was The Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by Automobile Club of Southern California at Fairplex in Pomona, Calif.
