I attended the meeting and it was a bit sureal. I have to say the Recher group showed great poise and professionalism. But I also believe that for parties involved that everyone is resigned to the fact the board in Riverhead does not follow any basic protocol in running a meeting. There are basic tenants upon the way this is supposed to be done and they are not following at all. I have been before numerous boards and muncipalites for much smaller projects and I have never seen such unprofessionalism. I think what really did it for me was the fact Cardinale said he would not entertain anything under 140 million dollars. Was it not the current standing offer $125 million from each side at the beginning of the meeting? Words can not describe what I witnessed. To sum it up the board is looking for the max amount of dollars eventhough I feel they know who they are going to vote for already.

From the begining of this whole Grumman deal I've always felt there's been something strange about this whole deal.The purchase price of$1.00 for this parcel of land from a federal entity(Dept. Of Defense)to a local municipality,(Riverhead)never felt right.Here's a town that for years profiteered off the existance of Grumman only to be handed a property that property bought and financed by fedreal tax dollars,to be able to sell to the highest bidder and profiteer again at taxpayer expense eventhough the taxpayer has expressed in great numbers its feelings as to how this property should be used.The only power Riverhead should have is to see that code requirements are met as it falls in their juristictian.The people have spoken! Cardinale says WHAT.MO MONEY MO MONEY MO MONEY

When I FINALLY got home at about 5 PM yesterday, I needed to consume about 10 quarts of VODKA to reduce the ANGER I felt toward Cardinale. That man can best be described as PATHOLOGICALLY FUCKED UP. My guess is he's got the smallest weiner that GOD EVER attactched to a human body and therefore has great need to manipulate and control people. It was a truly a farce. I will be there again tomorrow at 8 AM to witness the outcome of this kangaroo court.

I have to agree that Alan, the native and all the others on this board should be commended for what they have done. They have taken unwanted task and performed this out of there own time with no monetary gain, except for the fact that this project is what I feel is Long Islands last chance to have something great like this for the future. What other open land can accomadate this plan. I am sure when they designed Central Park in Manhattan they said why, but generations after everyone knows why now. If it does pass it is due to those peoples dedication.
