Motorsports on News 12 Tonight (8/29)

Tonight on News 12 at 5 PM there will be a bit from George at KOOKS and Don (DynoDon) about a Long Island Motorsports track.

Also, at 7 PM our own Fordboy (Alan) will be appearing on "Long Island Talks", which is a 30-minute call-in show discussing the important topics affecting Long Islanders.

Finally, please go to www.news12.com/LI, look along the right hand side of the page for the "News 12.com Poll". The question is "Do you think there should be a motorsport park on LI?". As of right now the results show 83% / 177 "Yes" responses and 17% / 37 "No responses". Vote yes!

Don sorry to here they butchered your interview.On a positive note they've been giving some airtime to the clip on regular news.I've heard it 6 time since 8.Something is better than nothing.Are we looking to Yapank again?Personally I think it's a better site,but any site is good.

The only problem with that post was...

The tracks existed before the moonshine days...

The event that got moonshine runners to the track was...the still owners bet eachother that there driver was better and in order to do that they took it to the track.... Not mooshining got nascar started...

NY didn't have moonshining and we had tracks dating back as far as 1890.... The brooklyn speedway was a 1.5 mile oval long long before the moonshine days... Queens had a 1 mile oval located right along HB and the belt pkwy Racing is not a southern entity as many people think it is

By 1930 there was as many as 30 tracks from brooklyn to bridgehampton

By 1940 or 50 there was as many as 50 tracks just in our area..

Farmers donated there land to have tracks built

WHEN THEY CAME TO TALK TO US THEY WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE YAPHANK SITE . SO I GAVE IT TO THEM. EVERY THING I KNOW ABOUT THE SITE

Shafts & Don, Art had some info on Yapank as far as toxins and airel photos of the plumes.Do you think their looking for dirty little secrets to make news prior to election time?Affordable housing over poison,failed promises no real change in immigration policies,taxes,ect..Believeing he is invincible is his greatest weakness.People forget quickly politicians rely on that.To fill his plate now could make it a race or force his hand to make friends.At election time at this level a couple hundred votes can swing an election.Everyone who visits this site must vote.

I think you will find that most of the country that has motor sports facilities have program's available so that professional race car drivers can teach young teenagers all aspects of safe driving.The one among many that i posted below is the largest law enforcment race team in the country. Let's try to fix the problem not put a BAND AID on a BRAIN TUMOR.
