Next Car Show This Weekend

The West Islip Chamber of Commerce is having their annual car show Sunday Sept. 5th at the West Islip Fair Grounds.

Always a great turnout.
It would be great if we can meet and drive in together.

I usually stay just until 1pm so it does not interfere with family activities.

The summer is winding down and this is a good show to get sigs before the Sept 7th Riverhead Resorts deadline.

Thank you to the members who have helped out for the last three events!

We need more members to come out to work the crowd and to cover more ground.

I will set the Christmas tree up to draw the crowd and get petition sigs. Depending on the spot I can setup the tent also and display our LID banner.

Going to meet up at the Stuff a Bagel in West Islip on Montauk Highway between 7:30 -7:45am.
The bagel place is about 1/2 mile west of the West Islip Library fairgrounds.

Cars can enter the show area after 8am.

Take Route 231 South to Montauk Highway.
Left onto Montauk Highway.

Stuff a Bagel is on the left at the first traffic light.

We did good this weekend at the West Islip Show.
The positive response exceeded expectations.
We got almost 75 petition signatures.

Thank you to all members that were able to help out on such a busy weekend.

The tent setup with the christmas tree brings people over. Terry setup a table with chairs so people would come into the tent and sit down and sign the petition.
Excellent idea Terry! We looked the very professional yesterday.

Next show should be somewhere in Nassau County.
Heard of a show possibly in Bayville at the end of the month.

This would be a good show to get the word out to people in those areas.
Need some support from our Nassau members with this one.
The Bayville show is going to be a big event.

We had a real nice 8 second vette join us`much appreciated as it was one of the nicest cars there. Would be nice if we could surround our booth with cars at all the shows we do, more the attraction. It was a good time talkin track. Met some great people. With some effort we could make this happen you can taste it when your at these shows. LOT's of people still have no idea of our effort. We've got to change that. We should have been doing this booth stuff from day one. We evven got the junior drag racers visiting us. This is a great sales pitch the family sport and the future. Got to work the angles and in our case it's the truth. We are thousands from 5 to 85 and older.

I like to get LIMA ones also but still can't get on that board, so if anybody can get a hold of Marty and see what he would like I'll cover a order of the same amount for him also. nope, dont need anything up front. I think glossy would look more professional so I will step up and cover the $20 difference. I'll place the order tomorrow when I get back to the shop.
