View Full Version : New Members
To all new members if you could post a little something about how you found out about us it could really help in our effort to increase our numbers and increase our voice. The more the membership the more the politicians will be concerned about how we think come election time. This is a unique year where we might be able to get rid of some of those people that have been standing in our way. Stay informed. We will post anybody that we see is against us, like Tim Bishop. The time is right to take back our Island. It sure would be nice if you new folks posted a little something about yourselves this way we see the newbies and can welcome you on board. Every member is important and knowing why your here helps our game plan.

Welcome emptypocketsracer25, I'm the guy you met I think in the beer pit if I'm correct. Thank's for hearing me out and joining our group. It makes my efforts feel worth it. I talked to a lot ofpeople that day and some L.I. based race teams and te guys in the stands you pointed out. Hopefully more will sign on. It's a great cause and evryone's opinions and ideas count her so if you got any feel free to share them. If you know anyone out there that is into racing invite them to join. When in comes to the empty pockets you came to the right place. But remember it isn't money that's going to get this done it's enough people standing up for their rights. If we can get the politicians to hear us and agree with our ideas a builder will follow.

What's up everyone,
My name is Rob and I'm from West Islip. I found out about this site from a neighbor of mine named Chris that has been involved with drag racing here on Long Island for quite some time now.
My main reason for joining this site is to not only chat with fellow LIer's that share the same passion but to also try and do my best to be a part of the idea of re-opening a new 1/4 mile. I believe highly in the cause and would like to see it become a reality. After being on the website for about an hour I'm already planning on attending the 100' drags on May 22nd out in Riverhead. Hope to meet some of you there. Thanks
-Rob

Dina and Andrew:
It was a pleasure working with Vets for Vets and Parise Racing to raise donations for the Wounded Warrior Project!
Would love to do another event for such a needed cause.
The LID teamwork and passion for legal Drag Racing on Long Island is what this site is all about.
Welcome to the site!
Mike
Welcome Dina and Andrew thanks for throwing your support this way and for all you do for the Wounded Warrior Project. Would sure like you to come to one of our events with your cars. If you could get us a canteen and poster I would like to set it at our booth at all our events it's a great cause. People forget sometimes the price paid by our soldiers unless it's someone close to them. They tend to fall between the cracks a sad statement of our society. You guys are a good reminder.

hello all. Name's Mike and i found you guys at the RH 100' drags. I got the LIDRA stickers on the windows of all my cars. i'm an ol' school Franny-lou racer from the late 70's early 80's time. now older and wiser i would much rather send it down the track. The last 4-5 years I got back into customizing and racing now that my sons have discovered cars. Since then i've entered cars in shows and we've raced at E-town.
Im actively looking for a shop to get my past-time into prime-time. We've played with some imports and won some show trophys but my guys and me agree muscle is the way. Present project is an 85 monte we will set up to run twin turbos & port fuel injected on a modified tunnel ram intake. i know....i know, why bother as there's better intake setups...but it will look wicked when done. Custom work in addition to general auto service will be a part of my shop setup. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I have lots of years wrench twisting experience along with electrical and would be happy to contribute to the forums. thanks -M
