Tranny line question?

How close is to close to the exhaust? I can run my lines (#6 braided steel) nicely over the collector, but that puts the line about 1-2” away from the exhaust. Should I try a different path? or would a heat shield help?

Also how close to the tranny should he temp manifold be to get an accurate reading on the temp gauge?

I always try for 3" or more around the exhaust..unless it's just impossible then i wrap it and shield it..
