Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I was from Medford now live down in Florida. I am looking for info on my car that i bought when i lived there. It was a 55 chevy nomad, back in the late 80's it had a blown 427 in it. It is all apart right now, looking for former owners with pictures"History" pictures in profile.

Welcome to the show Chris. I remember your car if it is a back halved car. It started life as a hot rod in the 60's was built by a guy that owned a shell station on vets hwy just past sagtigous pky I think his name was Joe Detore. It was bought by a guy named John Coffee from Kings Park he's the guy the transformed it to pro street. The car originally was two tone cream top with like a burgandy/ brown looking bottom. I had a 56 nomad back in the 70s with a small block when my brothers had it than handed down to me I put an L-88 in it which I exploded and went back to the original 331 before selling it to pay for my wedding. Sound familiar anybody. I also lived in Medford a place called eagle estates, but now in patchogue. Was your car in a shop in patchogue a few years back south of montauk? A few to me could be ten.

Hey TMAC,
Thank you for some of the history. Yes it was back halved and yes it was cream and burgandy color. When i got it in 92 it was sitting in a garage in i believe Rockville centre area. I have had the car since 92. I also grew up in eagle estates and went to P.M. high school.class of 86 lived on Acorn Ave we had the house with all the hot rods in the drive way.lol small world. I left in Jan of 94 so i am not sure if you saw this or not, if anything back then i used to go to kreskys(sp) for front end alignment on montaukbut we are going back along time. I used to run around in patchogue with the car all the time in 92-93, before that i had a yellow 55 2dr sedan and my brother had a baby blue 64 GTO. Thank you for the info.

Hey Tmac,
Thanks for the reply, I am excited that somebody knows about the car and remembers some kind of history to it. I bought the car pro street back in late 92' ran around with it all of 93 and left in 94' if you saw it it was then maybe at kreskys getting a front end alignment. It is burgandy and cream on top, from what i have heard about the car is that it was stolen back in the mid 80's and found upstate NY stripped, it was brought back home and pro streeted by a guy who worked at a body shop. I did see a picture with the blown big block at a car show but could not keep the pic, from what i have heard it had a blown 427 with a name of WAGON MASTER, I bought it as a roller from a guy in Rockville centre. Its funny that you said you lived in Eagle Esates i also grew up there Acorn ave by the school. We where the house with all the hot rods in the drive way. And also went to P.M. High school 86'. My brother used to run around up in patchogue with a 64 baby blue GTO. Thank again for the reply and i will add this info to my file.

Chris that guy Coffee worked in the body business. My brother in law knew him and told me the car was stolen from him. He hasn't seen him in a while but said he would ask around to see if he's still around. I don't remember any wording on the car but I'm going a ways back. The only Nomad I rember with a name on it was a green 56/55 frontend called PURE HATE which was bought by a friend of mine who stripped it and painted it red he took it with him to Florida. Strange things can happen. When I was 15 I bought a 56 210 sedan from an old woman for $15.00 it had no reg and no frontend. I put a 55 clip on it a 283 in it with little mods. I sold it when I got the Nomad from my brother. About fifteen years later I got a call from my Mom saying some guy called about a 56 chevy. I called the guy and it was my old car he needed me to sign some papers to get the car registered so you never know. I grew up in E. Northport and I moved to Eagle Estated in 86 I lived on New London Ave. I had a orange 72 Vega wagon and a 79 black El Camino ss both small block cars. I also rode a candy apple orange shovelhead w/ leathersaddle bags. Did you guys hang out with a guy with a black 70 El Camino and another guy with a white 68-70 Nova. There was a lot of hot rods there. Up the block from me was a guy named Leroy Fenton 68 Camaro track car on Wave was a guy named Steve Krieger Orange 65 fury Wedge Master he also had a 68 dart both track cars. I knew him from Northport The guys that owned Family Auto had a couple of cars. I remember seeing that 55 and goat but never the Nomad. I now have two vegas a white 75 hatch and if you remember the blue panel wagon the Tattoo place had I have that. I bought that for $250.00 weak 350 w/ 9" ford I thougt it was a steal but it's a real project. Basically I got a 9" ford rear.
