View Full Version : Townhall Meeting
Now that Mr. Levy has given his public support to a motorsports park maybe we should try to have a townhall style meeting with him to share our ideas and concerns. This meeting should have a few representatives of each form of motorsports so no one feels left out and will also show the amount of intrest here on L.I.WE could maybe post questions to ask here and pick from those for the one's we ask by vote.Good idea, bad idea?

The track was supposed to have remained..it was deemed a historical landmark...
The golf course removed most of the track, they weren't supposed to..
But if you want a event for mr levy to attend with heavy hitter motorsports attendees have him come there...

I was over that place last week visiting friends, where was the track? If I can find it I will snap some pics and post them here.
Can you get a car on it?
Some how I think the significance might not reach him. That was another of the sagas on LI that the NIMBY's thought they won. Until they found out about thier groundwater might be infiltrated by the runoff from the golf course. By then it was too late. You goin' Shafts??

Let me know if you guys are going to set something like that up. I will be there!
 It sounds like a good idea to make a stand there.Sept.30th is a Sunday it souldn't be a problem for most.We should post directions here with a time to meet. All forms of motorsports should be represented(you visitors reading this) Rallies need #'s and if you give a sht you should be there!Time and options are running out.
As for Townhall with Levy I still think we should try before Sept. 30th as Rhead decision calander could be sooner.I think we should upstage that.

where and when did levy come out and say he is in favor of the track. ???????
or is this just to get us off his back before voting.
This was in Suffolk Life last week.Although the article was in reference to ATV riders,Levy said he thought Calverton was a good site to provide for the motorsports community in general and was sending a letter to Mr.Cardinale to suggest consideration for this.

I LOVED bridgehampton......i will be there
 Was the Bridgehampton track registered with the Historical Society? If so it is a crime to deface or alter a landmark from it's state of existance at the time of registration, only approved modifications can be done. These modifications must be presented before the Societies Board, and accepted before work can commence.I know it's a little late but if proper channels weren't follow(paid off),Houston we have a problem. To those more savy with computer skills than I you should check this out.I'm sure there is a site and it can probably be narrowed down to area.

Exactly, the golf course wasn't supposed to remove the track itself...meaning the pavement/black top that was used for to make up the course was to remain.....well i have been going back to BH every year after it was closed and all that remained as per 2005 was the front stretch and only from pit entrance to the entrance of turn 3...everything else was removed.
It's funny how things can be done in some areas and not others. As a registered landmark Bridgehampton was given a reg.#these #s are onfile with the Historical Society, and I believe also with the feds. It's a big no no to alter in any way a registered site. Here's an example.I use to do a/c refrig. for a living,we did a job at the Museum of Natural History changing chiller coils in this room that stored old books we sawed the old coils out,but to install new coils we needed to chop a wall. They spent thousands to put temp equip in because the Historical Society had to okay the chop that was in a stair hardly used and had to be restored with like materials, plaster wall, terracotta block. To just rip up a landmark, well there was something in the tea kettle at that party other than tea or is it the H.S board lives there N.I.M.B.Y.?

Looks like the domain expired last month but was picked up by this place: SaveAtoZ.com. Probably not a good sign...
Fordboy has posted on another thread that there is a contender for Levy's office, his name is Peter Busacca he's a car guy.How about we invite both to Bridgehampton to address the crowd.
Does anyone know the time of the rally and to post directions?

It's not a rally, it's for all us that used to race there to get together there on yet another anny of BH look at pictures, movies, see eachother, talk...become sick, want to kill clueless non able to think people (some of us) and take pictures under the bridge
If this is just going to be a group of people that use to race there and not the motorsports community in general why have Levy there to address the concerns of one aspect of racing. With his knowledge he'll point to the F1 track being built as an alternative.

Why not make it a rally?
Another little tidbit about historical landmarks. They receive substantial tax breaks.Maybe if they are getting one it could be eliminated do to the defacing of the track.
