I passed the Delphi Diner today and it is closed for renovations.

Need a new diner in the Islip area until the Delphi reopens.

Is there a diner east on Montauk Highway by the Friendly's in Bayshore?

Sorry have been very busy later.

Here is what we discussed at the last meeting:

1) Discussed possible street closing to stage an event. Handed out NYS application on requirements.
Application outlines insurance requirements. Document has a lot of info. Need to get a copy to Spikey to look over.

2) Discussed upcoming car shows to hand out flyers. Finalize upcoming events at the next meeting.

3) General talk about Riverhead and the EPCAL reduced price land deal to Riverhead Resorts. Need all hands on deck when Riverhead has their special meeting to discuss the reduced price.

4) General BS about racing.

That is the correct permit, however you are only looking at the town/inner govt use side of it...

However.... Just to waste time before i gotta leave here......

Lets say you were to get the special use permit to use the whatever street/hwy/road for 4 or 6 or 8 hours....then you better also explain EVERYONE needs 1 million insurance policies on there cars, or you better have 1 million for each of the cars (if you have that money....you might as well call Riverhead and tell them you'll buy epcal at the original price RR is not)

That insurance policy demands barriers for the distance + 1 third, then that means you need to get the barriers in place.... and out of place during your __ hours of special permit use... Then when you tell them exactly what you are doing...there going to hand you a expected bill for the police they expect you will need....
(Why do you think production companies use sets, or go to Canada to film.)

You guy's are really way way off course here....


I would love to know how this should/will/could help with the issue at hand in anyway.... This idea is like a street racing event, but the street racing saves money and just does it.

You should find out what the production companies pay per hour to have a street/road to themselves for filming.....which doesn't require jersey barriers.
Doesn't require hundreds of flat bed tractor trailer, and since you would have to also be CLEARED out after your permit is expired....having them all standing by and the machine operators......(they aren't working for free)
Call a few trucking companies ask how much to move....oh say...30 machines (since you want to have racing for atleast 1 hour of the permits allot-ed time... (permits are by hour) then figure 6 barriers to a truck... x that by the distance you are racing plus 1 third....


If you could afford that.... if you have that money needed to just get the equipment and trucks and barriers, please call Riverhead town 1st thing in the morning and tell them, you will buy the epcal property tomorrow at the original $155 million price....

I see any and all these ideas as an attempt to bring us back out in the daylight, and stir a little interest in those who have given up the majority of the sport here. It's been said that without thousands comming out nothing will happen, so I guess the question of the day is how do we achieve that?

You want better positive results, get me donations and watch our tv commercials...we are a non profit org, its just a little cheaper then regular commercials

NOW There is a job everyone should be able to get behind, and everyone is just dying of boredom and wants something to do, recruiting isn't good enough, so let's do it the tv adds...what better way to raise awareness and really make a issue

Get sponsors, a cup,donations, whatever and raise atleast $6500 and we'll do our tv commercial adds.

Not a single run commercial, multiple run assorted time slots, and I'll see if I can still get the production part for free like it was offered in the past..

What do you get for $6,500.00 ? I could see how an add on tv would help get the word out but is there an audience that will do anything once they see it. An add that had maybe a builder or a group interested in doing something would get attention but an add just asking people to join our cause or asking people to write their public officials would probably get about the same response as flyers. You would think an interested party or builder would foot the bill to help themselves.
There is a free way to get airtime public access tv and non profits are the reason it exists. Maybe contact cable and see if you could get a show on public access maybe do the car show circuit with cameras, feature shops and parts houses here maybe even interview politicians. Just tell people when it's on even flyers for the show. People will want to see their rides on tv they will probably even tape it to show others and the concept spreads. Now all you would need is people with the time and equipment to do it.

Jay's (jayman) event location is an excellent idea. Location will not be disclosed until
it can be obtained for use. It is located in the Town of Islip and will need help from Islip member residents.

2) Finalize upcoming events to hand out flyers. Town of Islip Saturday night gathering at the Town Hall parking lot. 5-8PM This will be a good place for us to meet and hand out flyers.

3) Riverhead and the EPCAL reduced price land deal to Riverhead Resorts. Need all hands on deck when Riverhead has their special meeting to discuss the reduced price. When is the special meeting date? No meeting date scheduled yet but all hands on deck when the meeting is scheduled.

Jay's (jayman) event location is an excellent idea. It is located in the Town of Islip and will need help from Islip member residents.

The street closing event will be a 100 foot drag race/car show that will be a fundraiser for a local fire department. The fire department is reviewing a proposal that I submitted to them.
I hope to hear from them shortly.

2) Sayville Chamber of Commerce has their annual Summerfest car show on Sunday Aug 8th. I have already registered my car. The show is on Main Street. The street fair is packed with people every year.

I am going to purchase a pop up tent. This is the event that we should ALL get together and hand out flyers. You do not have to have a car there to help out. PM me with your address and I can send you a registration form out.

I own a 3,500 watt Honda generator. It is pretty quiet but will not fit into my trunk.

Purchased a 10' x 10' tent the other day.

I will call the Sayville Chamber of Commerce this week.

Can do the Thursday night Riverhead show after my children are done with their final exams.

Update for the August 8th Sayville Show:

Purchased a 10 x 10 pop up tent. I think if we get their early we can park our cars in the lot accross from the box store
pharmacy. This way the tent will be close to the street were the crowd walks.

I will scope out the place to park.

Pitchblack SS is going to make a LID banner to hang on the tent. Thank you!

Jayman is investigating how to play the DVD drag racing on LI at the show.

I can make a sign up sheet that will allow people to sign the petition with their email address. This way we can
insert them into the petition database at the end of the day.

We can meet at the West Islip Mcdonalds cruise spot. Around 6pm?

Mc'ds has a good crowd on sat night with a few cars running slicks.

We can have people sign up since I made a signup sheet for the petition.
We can add their names later without having them doing it.

well i fired up the ghetto cruiser and went to west islip......great cars were there...then in comes this 409 nice ride....only it took this guy about twenty min to back it in to its spot....god.....me ..im just standing there watching....then i notice the lidragracing.com decal on his back window.....god...has to be him.....so i smile...and said hi...it was mr 409 himself....was a pleasure meeting you .....finally putting a face on another one person in the group.....no one else just us...he passed some flyers...we bullshitted...and then it was time for me to make the treck home....was a great ride....weather wasnt as hot as we were getting every day...but all in all was worth the trip...too bad you other guys and gal ..couldnt make it....sweet cars there...the ghetto cruiser was happy sitting there in her splendor ...amist the pretty painted cars.....it was like bringing a whore to a comming out party...lol.....loved every second of it....
