Does anyone know the latest news regarding the go kart track that's supposed to be built this year. Last I heard it was almost fully approved but i haven't heard anything else..

The Town of Riverhead Planning Department is overdue with their response necessary for F1 Long Island to complete our Final Environmental Impact Study (fEIS). The Town is bogged down trying to hire consultants to review F1 Long Island's consultants (AKRF) Draft Environmental Impact Study (dEIS). The same consultants that are developing the EIS for the downtown Riverhead re-development project (AKRF - who were suggested by the town) are going to have their work reviewed by another consulting group to ensure the accuracy of their sound and traffic studies - all at F1 Long Island's expense. We hope this step will be competed quickly by the consultants and their findings provided soon thereafter.

May 23, 2007 Town of Riverhead Planning Board selects consultants to review dEIS and provide comments to Town Planning Board. F1 Long Island advances fees to Town of Riverhead to hire consulants to review dEIS and provide comments for fEIS. Consulants review expected shortly.

I spoke with the owner a few weeks back.I think they are making some small changes to the plan but he told me "HELL OR HIGH WATER IT WILL OPEN".He and his partner already spent over 1 MILLION more than they wanted to, all because of the local town board.

Hey Enzo Racing have you talked to some of the L.I.K.A.guys about this track.They feel left out.If you could post site info it could help them get an idea of the operation.Welcome aboard it's nice to see other forms of motorsports on this site.Spread the word if we all come together the politicians will realize were a voting force to be reckoned with.THE STRONGER THE VOICE THE BETTER IT'S HEARD!

The town made them do 3 of everything, costing them more probably then it would have to build the place

Hopefully they'll get the shovel in there soon..

Lika i thought has spoken with them, i don't think there was to much going on then.

A guy I spoke to from LIKA at a Captree rally said the F1 course was being set up like a country club where membership fees were pretty high pricing a lot of them out,especially guys running a few karts.
