Westhampton property

I just did a satelite view of the Suffolk county owned property next to the old Westhampton Dragway.
You can see the 56 missle silos, the impounded cars and the firing range and what appears to be some evoc training area. Pretty cool. I dont know exactly how long ago this was photoed. It also looks like ther is still alot of unfinished houses on the old strip property.
The story that 409 posted about the property for sale had me thinking. I never knew about the missle silos !
I cant post a link to the areal view as its to large. But anybody can check it out, Use 103 Old country road to get close.

Never knew the silos were there also :confused:

Just think they built high end townhouses on the dragstrip property right next to that.
They are starting at $575,000! (hard to read the sign)

I visited the track last summer and took these pictures with my camera phone.

Sad a true waste of a nice local track.

There are silos all over LI, some people know about, some they don't.
