You want another history lesson.... This one is killer.....

The largest group making up over 98.7% of the 3 legal meetings on how to use the PUBLIC'S property....

The group well over 4000 at any time easily....the only group that had more people then any of the 3 meetings had enough room for and were turned away...

Is also the ONLY GROUP to walk away and have not since returned to fight for what they all supposedly LOVE.....

Yet the smaller 1.3% never let them get an inch....has been at every meeting since....
Wouldn't be surprised if the smaller group gets what they want...

Also the largest group of quitters, which group/community was that ? ?

Was the same group/community that said "we got screwed" and let them get away with it, we never got screwed, they quit trying!.... Except for a very small few, which are still more then the 1.3% fighting to keep legacy village from happening.....

Now if those originals would get motivated again and fight... things could be different... but they all tell me, "it'll never happen, they lied to us, you were there"
.

Well said Marty. So to all that see this, this is your wakeup call. The time was always but the response can be now. Many are needed so do what you can to spread the word.It doesn't just have to be the racing community it can be family, friends, neighbors, anybody that thinks it is a good idea, and you would be surprised have many it is.In my years of going about all but a few agreed it was a smart thing to do.So in my case out of thousands I've only come across three that didn't like the idea and one of those was at Bald Hill looking at cars.
The strange thing is the people that want it the most, think it will happen the least.:confused:Most everyday people think we could make it happen.

Marty,

As always you are invited to our meetings.

Come to the next one and meet the next wave of dedicated people who are willing to fight with you as a team.

The next meeting will be first week of Feb. No date or time as of yet.

In the times article, Levy (who has announced a run for the democratic parties bid for the NY govenors office) states that "it isn't the group that makes the most noise, its the plan that fits best". Sure doesn't sound like by the people for the people to me. I still vividly recall feeling insulted when I left the Bellport HS that night.

I left the bellport HS with "i have proof our CE is a dictator" many others left that HS that night as "we got screwed again"...

I left knowing we could win, but i never thought everyone would walk away so quickly and quit..

With the housing market the way it is and jobs not to be had, unless of coures your not American,Levy land isn't the great idea even Levy once thought it was.
I personally think that the Yapank site was always the best, but the town people didn't really want us either, but we were the better option to them over the housing project.
How do we wakeup the dead though?

Got me Tmac.... if i could do that we wouldn't be doing epcal for the 6th time....

The biggest problem is and always has been participation, keeping focus...
The thing was i believe everyone expected to hear that night at bellport was... "ok and motorsports it is" if that is honestly what they expected then i hate to say it, but they have got to be seriously in denial of how things work..

Seems that is exactly what happened...

Now we got all kinds of bs running around, people talking rumors, getting people going on bs, and more things to pull it all apart...

I think we should revisit some of the ideas of the past.Maybe try to arrange them in a systematic order where we can gauge our progress. We had some good ideas that didn't pan out, maybe because of timing or the order in which we did them.Attendance is of most importance and as we all know the lack of attendance made us look real bad and unorganized. Our focus should be numbers before we proceed with any action. The key is to figure out a way to get people to come out.The car show idea seems to attract crowds, throw in a swap meet, cruise, day of defiance.

Im willing to jump back in with u guys. Before attendance has to come membership!
Car shows are good ideas as well as other things.
We need to get racers on here and/or lima!It should really be just one,u guys are splitting urselves up.We need ONE site to direct everyone towards.
I have brought this up in the past, track rentals!
We need to get people coming here for other reasons then the cause, truth is people are not willing to put in the time u guys are but if you have them here for other reasons and it becomes a close nitch of people like other local forums are, they will be there for ur attendance when u need them.
I wil attend ur next meeting and have ideas about stuff like this and linking up with other local forums that have thousands of memebers already.

I've always thought this was the drag racing wing of LIMA.As for existing forums with thousands of members why don't they search us out?We do the legwork they just need to sign on.In all my years of doing this, this is the one thing I'll never understand. In the past people with the ability to make a difference said in this realestate market the property values will outweigh the development of a track. That doesn't fly now.Right now is the time to strike.
